G U13 NPL has the talent, however the coaching is sub standard. Coaching lost that game to GPS...
Final is already secured. You got to get your head out from behind and think that the game is meaningless. This team did well in NPL League given he has parents like you to deal with.
My daughter is on the GU13 NPL team and I can't agree more about the poor coaching, it cost us the game
I coach in this age group and I can tell you flat out that coaching did not cost them that game. The lack of finishing opportunities cost them that game. Every team has been there at one time or another. Coaches led them to the water but unfortunately nobody wanted to drink. The parents on here complaining should take a look at their own kids and realize they had the game in their hands but couldn't pull the trigger. It happens. Not the end of the world!

Classic. Gotta love it when coaches blame their players.
KL #5 is very good (such a great athelte...AAU Basketball, track...if she only focused on soccer). She is a 2002. I'm talking about the 2003 girl (I'm hesitant to mention her initials or number, not sure if that is fair to her)...but needless to say, she is usually in the midfield and I think pretty easy to pick out. Now the question is why hasn't anyone (read: ECNL teams) recruited her...pretty simple...the ECNL teams recruit from the NPL (and their ID Camps as well). If you have been to the Stars Cup, Scorpion Bowl, NEFC PreSeason Tournament, you will notice the DOC's (FM, JD or BB...or one of their trusted talent evaluators watching Bayside v. CSU or Sea Coast v. FCUSA). They are not watching because they have anything to fear from these clubs, but rather to evaluate the one or two top players that may potentially help them out. They don't go to NEP caliber games. They assume, incorrectly in this case, that the Bayside is recruiting from the top NEP talent or smaller clubs to their NPL team.
And that is exactly what happened in this case. Bayside is content and doesn't look to jettison kids with several years of club time for newer/better players. And the Strikers don't want to lose her, you can't blame a coach for wanting to keep his/her best players. They aren't complaining that Bayside isn't really recruiting their players.

Ok, I'll say this again so you understand... Does this player WANT to move up to a higher level team??? If so, then she and her parents have to actually PUT HER IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT COACHES??? I get that Bayside NPL is not recruiting her. I get that her current team does not want to lose her, I get that no coaches are watching RI Strikers games.... But if (and only if) she wants to play on a higher team, and she thinks she can, then she cannot sit back and wait to be discovered. Go to ODP, go to an NPL/ECNL tryout. If she's good enough there, she WILL get noticed. If you know this player, and you know she wants to move up, encourage her to get out there and put a little effort in on her end.
My guess, is however, that you are just bitter about something, and want to bi*ch and moan and are using this poor kid as your method.

Thanks Mom (or Dad). Who else would know everything the kid is involved in? Also, if you are not Mom or Dad, why would you be ok with mentioning this girls initials and number but not the 2003 girl?

The players play the game, not the coach. Unless the coach put players in positions that were blatantly wrong given the strengths and weaknesses of those on the field, it's up to those on the field to execute.
Have to love parents who have no experience coaching who then blame a coach for the players lack of skill on the ball, poor execution or just poor athleticism/fitness. Take some personal responsibility for your player's development outside of practice.

Mom or dad don't even know this site exists. OP's kid goes to school with these kids, which makes you wonder why if your kid sees them every day in school, you need to come on here and complain about them not wanting what your kid wants. Looks like you'll be driving an hour to practice all by yourself next year

You play a certain way in the first half and you are winning, then you drastically change where the girls are playing and you lose. That’s not the girls fault.

Here is my advice. This week and next week are tryouts weeks. It is time for you to move on if you feel the coach has done you an injustice by losing the game. Like I said the game is meaningless. But I agreed they should have won it for a psychological boost going in to the final. Beyond that the team should be fine. For too any parents won/loss is their primary concern. Coaches however wanted to challenge their players in different situations and see how they respond. Obviously it didn't go as plan but for a few parents to come on TS and attack a coach is out of bound. E
The game was meaningless??? NPL advanced on goal differential. So NO, you are wrong, the game mattered. And if the coach felt the way you do, then that's even worse that they didn't know the importance of this game...

Based on your comments, your team was up 8 goals so the coach decided to try something different. He didn't expect a loss but no harm done. GPS would have to score 9 goals in 1 halve to advance. I think the coach is smart enough that scenario is unlikely. The importance of this game is you parents felt cheated by the coach for losing the game. Have you thought the coach may be experimenting formation in anticipating the final? Again, the game is meaningless. Why do you always second guess your coach's decisions. If you are that unhappy move on. I think he knows little bit about the game than you done.
