Looking at the Revs Academy's website there are 4 players listed Bayside. 2 players played for Capital. That says a lot.

It says that parents ARE the determining factor when it comes to player development/advancement. If a good player has a parent that is not kissing butt and not up to a club or town teams satisfaction, or if a coach is not promoting the player, then the player will not be given a chance...it's the RI way

Its not the RI way, its the same everywhere. Quick example, was at the boys Revs tryouts and was talking with a parent and coach from a club I believe. We were watching a player who seemed pretty dominant. Coach turned to me and said, "too bad his parents are a$%*&%#@". What I got from that is Many great players will never have a chance. So sad for US soccer

Is race or ethnicity a factor??? 2 Portuguese and 2 Asian? JMA, Portuguese, SK, Asian. See a pattern?

Kids from ri on Revs are asian,columbian,portuguese and dominican..no pattern! The only Pattern is that the bayside boys coaches and providence coaches play a style of play that allows for individual development. Too many clubs worry about team development.

Lots of good players out there with very close skill level. The problem, from what I have seen is that certain players are being given sooo much positive reinforcement and being promoted that they become better while the kid that works hard, saves goals, scores goals are not given any recognition so their hard work goes unrecognized. So, sort of a conspiracy....PIRATES undermining players dreams

It's up to you to put your kid in the right environment. If a kid is being treated as you described - leave.

There you said it. "Too many clubs worry about team development", just an fyi, your son/daughter is on that TEAM. So clubs ignore your daughter/son, who are part of a TEAM and worry about CERTAIN players. Many players are 1 "pat on the back away" but never get it because the kids who are favored for one reason or another.
Clubs will soon find themselves facing class action lawsuits for discrimination and prejudice.
