why let facts get in the way of a scorps argument?

Here's scorps self-reported 2014 "brag" sheet: Franklin pierce, stony brook, umass lowell, stetson, st. Bonaventure, america, skidmore, u of new haven., u of albany.

Same amount of commits as bayside (11) with bayside kids going to: Unh, pc, uri, bryant, fairfield, conn college (2).

Pretty dead heat if you ask me, once again the argument blows up in thin air.

What's next, you want to start comparing 2015s?

That is unlikely. There is no shortage of loud mouth dads on the Bayside sidelines, but TS doesn't attract the Bayside people as much as the people that went to the Scorpions and try to justify it even when they don't get a signle D1 commit on the whole team. All the schools listed earleir are d2

I would take both of those girls in a heart beat. The dad is no worst then some of the dads on our sideline already. And they would both start in the current team.

Nothing negative just objective response to Scorps propaganda in thread. This idea that you can only succeed by going to Scorps or NEFC as opposed to Bayside is so ignorant.

FC Stars is a destination team for any kid in Mass, RI, NH, but the Scorps and NEFC are not.

You are crazy if you don't think either Scorps or NEFC aren't destination clubs for girls in MA. Especially NEFC. NEFC and FC Stars are clearly the top two destination clubs in the region and no matter what you delusional Bayside people think, that is truth right now.

Nearly every one of these Bayside-Scorpions posts are related to a feud between two people that live in the eastern RI area. It continues on through the high school season in RI. Most people know who they are, but hardly anyone cares about the issues. Maybe these guys can start their own website called Talking Blabbermouths. Spare us the details of your feud and move on please.

What the State Cup tells us is Bayside is no longer the dominant Boys club in RI. Blackwatch/NEFC and Bruno will continue to dominate the U13 thru U16 age brackets in the next 3 or 4 years. A shift is in the making. With the NPL league on the horizon, Bayside will continue to grow their girls' side and will become the distination club for the top RI girls. The U15 was the only blemished on a total dominant performance over the weekend. Although they may have outplay Portsmouth in possession, soccer like any others sports, it is all about result and they did not do enough of that.

Good luck to all WINNERS!!!! Wish you all much success at Regional.. Will be there to cheers you all for representing RI.

No, BW could dominate the U14/U15 cohorts -- but that's where SC's focus has been the last few years as his girls' side imploded (couldn't even keep a State Cup winning team together the next year). Bruno has a good team at U13, have to see about the viability of the club as a whole. Bayside is dominating the talent at u12 (would have been interesting if they put a team in 11 v 11, but developmentally teams should be 8 v 8 at u12, right if we believe what our experts at the national level say) and has the stronger feeder system.

Did not see the u15 game so agree and it points out more about SRI. Deerfield park is a nice complex for a town, but it really has only 1 or 2 true soccer fields (geez, you had goals that looked like they were pulled out from 20 years ago).

No, we're not going to have a Lancaster/Progin park, but why the need to jam 6/7 games all together? It waters down the refereeing (again, did not see the U15G game, but the ones I saw had wide variances in how the CR called/controlled the match). It's hard to leverage the college campus because that weekend is usually graduation weekends.

2 alternatives -- Play the younger age groups on that weekend and keep the 15s and up to same weekend that MA does their semi/finals; that way you can use the better fields (and better refs) more at Deerfield or even consider leveraging fields in close proximity (say URI/Wilson Park/EG Turf field) or Deerfield/Bryant/NS Turf for example.

Not a knock on Deerfield/Smithfield, but that space is not meant to run 6 or 7 soccer fields..several fields slope, grass was uneven, etc. Again, if this is SRI's ***top** tournament, why not treat it that way??

Yes, good luck to all the RI teams..not a fan of all the clubs, but regardless, I hope all the Ri teams do well next month and congratulations to the players.

There are like 5 RI kids playing Scorps, most of the commenting on this page probably doesn't even come from RI based Scorps parents, most likely other clubs in RI or Scorps Mass contingency stirring pot.

Go compare the commits from the years before and the 1 after the Meehan twins left to 2014 & 2015s it tells you all you need to know about where Scorps are heading as a club.

Just talking about the boys, Bruno has strong 13s and 16s. The 16s are newly strong this year because of an influx of Luisitana boys. If Bruno gets more Luisitana players, that could make a difference for their other boys teams. What is also being ignored is that the Bruno Revs partnership will start to mean something next year. More training which has obviously been an issue with the club.I think the desmise of the club is greatly exaggerated by bitter girl's parents. Blackwatch is also stepping up it's game with the NEFC merger. More training options for them also in the winter. Bayside 12s are dominant but they are jumping to 11v11 and are losing up to 4 players. The boys side remains in play in RI for those three and no club should be complacent.

The rest of the clubs are now just low performing Maple teams. I don't know why anyone would bother with Bayside United., Rams, Tidal Wave, Luisitana etc..

I'm not even associated with Scorpions at all, but we did leave RI to play soccer in MA. Bayside is the best club in RI, but you are still only barely able to compete against the top 10 MA teams in whichever age group. There may only be 5 RI players on the Scorpions, but the top 10-15 of all girls RI players across all the age groups will gravitate to MA, just like they do now. Whether its U14 or U17, MA has more to offer as far as training and competition. If bayside can get to that level, maybe you'll attract RI players to stay in RI, but for now, you're not there yet.

With NPL, they will just reload! Why play with Bruno and NEFC RI? They will play B & C teams from NEP. A top player on those teams would be very foolish not to come to Bayside. Just the NPL showcases will be worth it. I have a friend in NY that says the showcases are great and tons of college coaches. My guess is that Bruno will fall apart and I know too many people that are unhappy at that club. NEFC RI not sure how successful they will be. What do they have to look forward too, NEP games and RI State Cup. All the top tournaments take NPL teams on the top brackets.

Girls U13. Third straight year going to regionals. Advanced last year out of pool play to the semis where they lost in the last two minutes. Played well in Region 1 this year going a respectable 2-2-3.
