League doesn't matter?

Really, the league that you play in doesn't matter that much??? Tell that to all of these so called "alliance" teams that want to play in NEP because Maple is so terrible. You can't even discuss Super Liga as a league because after u12 it is simply rec vs another town. Tell the Rams parents who will be driving 2-3 hours for Region 1 league games that the league you play in doesn't matter (again because Maple is so terrible and they can't get into NEP). Tell it to the parents of top players on a NEP team that they really don't want their kid to get the exposure that NPL offers. Tell it to the parents of top players playing on a NPL team that they really don't need to be concerned about ECNL....come on, if your kid is in any way serious about playing the game of soccer, the league they play in matters ALOT.

In RI, for about 2 boys per 1,000 premier players; and for 5 girls per 1,000 premier players. For all the rest it just a glorified sticker on a car that drives around the northeast for 8 months a year.

It is people like you to hurt soccer in general. Always so negative. No one is inherent or have a gene defect that limit their ability to play this game. The only limitation is our inability to foster a culture to support our kids. Too bad because there are talents in this small state.

There is no perfect development model in the US but it's getting better. We are still decades behind other countries, but to say things haven't improved in the last 30 years is frankly idiotic.

More kids burned out at 13-14 than ever before. Numbers are lowest with rec and competitive players at U13 and over in the last 10 years. Is the development model only for the few elites? Look at the Division 1 rosters, they're primary targets aren't US players.

Burnout is not the reason why there are so many foreign players on D1 teams. The window to win is short and the best chance to win is with foreign players. Plus US based players are not very technical and creative yet to play the skill positions because many played kick and run in towns and most clubs. The heavy Engish influence does not help either.

I agree with the numbers being lower in town programs, however at clubs there are plenty of B&C teams on big clubs and larger rosters on some A teams for smaller clubs. Not sure that I'd not categorize lower numbers as burn out but rather natural attrition.

Nobody cares about JT .Most club coaches at Bayside fc ,bruno and other lower clubs should never be paid. If they fudge their resume it doesn't matter. Parents have no clue!!they pay for the patch on their daughters nice 60.00 club bag, not the coach. I guarantee that at tryouts most parents had no clue what experience or coaching level their future coach had. It they way it has always been.

Guys who have a min of C or B license, a coach who played at high level or at least was a high school stand out. A coach who has 10 years + experience, a coach who has a track record of developing players. These are the only coaches who should get paid. A kid who played at RIC with less than 5 years coaching experience and no real license should not be on a payroll. If you want to volunteer and coach and learn ..great but parents should not be passed on the expense in their sons or daughter tiution.
Don't call it a premier club if you can't meet these requirements. As far as JT not a fan for many reasons but at least he has paid his dues in experience with camps, clinics and years expetience
