In general, Bayside NPL teams SHOULD be better than NEFC Southeast teams, because that is pitting Bayside's top team against what could be the 3rd or 4th team in the NEFC lineage (GU13 probably being the only exception after all the birth year changes). But that aside, at least on the girls side, what I have noticed is that there are more kids deciding to go through the Southeast region to develop at the younger ages, so that they may be able to get that inside track to play on the NEFC top elite teams by GU13. Of course, very top players will be picked up quickly at any time from any club, but it is definitely easier to get on the radar of those ECNL/NPL coaches when you are in the system already. Same with Stars South feeding up to Stars ECNL. Bruno is hurting for top talent in general. They have a few great players, but most either choose to move on early, or if they don't have ECNL or NPL level-talent, they might be content to stay put and ride it out if they are happy. But as a whole, Bruno is not attracting and recruiting in new top talent at all very much anymore. Definitely getting the leftovers from Bayside and NEFC, at least in the northern part of the state.

Funny, right. Because Bruno has too much class to boast on TS or anywhere else.

Bruno lose players because a number of teams have parent coaches (as do all clubs), just seems more than most.

They lose players to NEFC Southeast as they are getting recruited at ODP.

2 wrongs don't make it right. DD is winless so we should get rid of him also. The best option for RI clubs is to consolidate in order to compete with the likes of NEFC and GPS.

It's not a good sign for the club. If you add the NEFC Preseason results the spring season has not been nice to Bruno Boys. Club might get booted from NPL with these results.

The greater the pool of players the better your teams will perform it just the reality. Bruno like another RI clubs just don't have talents in the pools of players. RI needs a mega club to compete.

RI has two, GPS RI and NEFC Southeast and South County

MA based clubs not included. I can't imagine RI can't have an ECNL/DA caliber club if the top players banned together. Small state with small mind has always been the problem.

Sorry, parents are the biggest obstacles.

So true. Premier soccer in RI is typically a money grab by ex "players" who are taking advantage of all the soccer moms who want to walk around in club gear. Most of the kids have no resemblance to "premier" players. Every once in a while you get a team that really resembles an all-star premier team but most only have a few players of that caliber because the talent is too spread around. Talk to someone who was at SRI when the second premier club was approved years ago and they will tell you it may have been the worst decision in the history of SRI. It wrecked youth soccer by making it more expensive (thereby exclusive) for all of us. If you had one premier club with maybe two teams per age group RI might actually be competitive beyond its borders. That would also be representative of the true number of kids each year who may go on to play in college. The challenge would be finding coaches. There are way too many clowns out there that have no idea how to actually develop kids. Absent a new super club being formed (not happening) the only clubs with the structure to pull it off would be NEFC or GPS. They are far better run and organized than anyone else around here. They may not have the best RI players today, but there is no question they have the best structure and leadership. Over time parents will gravitate to these clubs because of that.
