What Bayside the good one or bad one? Why was he fired? The current Bayside U13 coach doesn't seem to be doing any better...

Hard to believe, many have Bayside warm-ups, bags, shirts ect. Pretty expensive for kids that didn't make the team.

Its funny Bayside attracts some of the better players from the Town teams, prestige for the parents, my kid practices at Bryant College! Problem is decent players can mask poor coaching, and this is Bayside all the way! Average coaching at best. The teams for the most part have been together for a long time so they should be good, not struggling against new teams! Bayside provides the most to ODP and look what happens their! They take a beating year after year! One kid ranked last year from RI and spent many years at TW. played Bayside for 1 year yet they tout the player as their accomplishment and the parents suck it up!

Another post from the ignorant, non-Bayside parent group. Anyone close to the team knows that the team is much-better coached this year than they were a year ago. Anyone close to the team also knows that the coach running the show over the last 6 months is CH. Giving her more control of the girls' training, fitness, etc. is the best thing that's ever happened to this group. All the girls really look up to her and she's a great role model.

This team is bent on improving and competing against the best teams out there. If your daughter is a good, committed player and wants to play for the best rising U14 team in southeatern Mass/RI area next year, please come to tryouts. There are spots that will be open.

I can't say enough good things about Bayside as a club and our experience here. The facilities, coaching, level of competition, camraderie has been excellent. The only people who put Bayside down on this forum are the people who are not associated with Bayside. If you really want to know the truth seek out a Bayside parent and speak to them personally. This forum is a fountain of mis-information.

Don't need to seek them out, go to any game and listen them carry on like spolied brats especially when it is a physical game

Mistakes can be corrected..... leave now, better for you and your player.... cuz its all about the wins....right?

I don't think it is about the wins-I do think the coaching on the girls side at the ages I have seen-the older girls-is not very good. There are also players on those teams who don't have the ability or the understanding of the game to be playing at that level-with better coaching maybe they could at least be more competitive-it's too bad Bruno used to be an excellent club.

Bruno u18 G is good-and the coaching is as at least partly the same as the U16's so to me it is more about the players-

Bruno used to be respected in the soccer community that was pre JT. During his tenure Bruno has become a more expensive version of town clubs.

And ugly style of soccer. Back in the MN days Bruno teams played ball now they just dump and run all game. Don't blame the players it's the coaching or lack of coaching. The only teams that even try to play are U18 girls U16 boys and U12 boys. The doc team may be one of the worst and its to bad if you coached them to try and play they would have some success. Here is a recent article below that I think all parents should read not only Bruno parents.

                      By Stan Baker

The 10 questions found below are especially directed toward parents who have children 10 years old and above.

Below this age level, the players are still very egotistical and focused on themselves rather than on any sort of collective play. The infamous swarm is actually just a reflection of the natural process. The best thing to do is to keep the numbers low for this age group since fewer players mean more access to the ball and less suffocation by both teammates and opponents. This will ultimately lead to better player development.

To avoid confusion and disappointment from parents, coaches of players under 10 years old should communicate to them that it is OK at this age level for the players to gravitate to the ball, and that the game played by the youngest players shouldn’t reflect that of a professional team.

The intention of this list of 10 questions is not to put any extra pressure on the coach, but rather to help solidify the parent support for long-term development.

Parents who understand what the team is trying to accomplish and what our style of play looks like, will be more likely to lend support and back what the coach is attempting to do. With this said, the process will require much more ongoing communication throughout the season. It should be communicated that the process of long-term development requires patience.

                      10 QUESTIONS FOR PARENTS
(Analyzing my child’s team -- U-11 and above)

                      1) Are the players attempting to pass the ball on the ground to teammates, or are most passes just played long and far into space?

                      2) Does the team try to possess the ball? How many passes does the average possession last?

                      3) Is the ball up in the air or out of play for a large part of the game?

                      4) Does the team pass the ball laterally from one side of the field to the other switching the point of attack? Are they patient in building an attack, or do they hurry to kick the ball forward?

                      5) How often is the ball passed backwards? On a more evolved team the ball should be played back once every three to four passes.

                      6) Does the team rely almost solely on kicking the ball forward to a big fast player up front to score, and on another big fast player in the back to cover for mistakes and send the ball forward? If so, what kind of soccer experience is the rest of the team getting? (As the players move to a more advanced level of play we must remember that most defenders will be as big and fast as our team’s primary goal scorer. Also, better players and well-organized teams learn to defend long straight passes quite easily.)

                      7) Does the game appear to be out of control? Are there frequent, consecutive changes in possession?

                      8) Are all players moving to create space or to support the ball, or does the team rely on only a few players?

                      9) Do the players always play in the same position on the field or is there a rotation?

                      10) Has the team evolved from the beginning to the end of the season? Has your child progressed as a player?

Why did MN leave and what is the doc team? Interesting article though I'd expect more from the younger players.

                          1) Are the players attempting to pass the ball on the ground to teammates, or are most passes just played long and far into space? Long, far and high.

                          2) Does the team try to possess the ball? How many passes does the average possession last? Never maybe 2-3 passes.

                          3) Is the ball up in the air or out of play for a large part of the game? All the time.

                          4) Does the team pass the ball laterally from one side of the field to the other switching the point of attack? Are they patient in building an attack, or do they hurry to kick the ball forward? Forward forward forward.

                          5) How often is the ball passed backwards? On a more evolved team the ball should be played back once every three to four passes. Never.

                          6) Does the team rely almost solely on kicking the ball forward to a big fast player up front to score, and on another big fast player in the back to cover for mistakes and send the ball forward? (As the players move to a more advanced level of play we must remember that most defenders will be as big and fast as our team’s primary goal scorer. 7) Does the game appear to be out of control? Are there frequent, consecutive changes in possession? Other teams posses it then we get and kick it fwd or out of bounds. And our coach yells nice ball.

                          8) Are all players moving to create space or to support the ball, or does the team rely on only a few players? The only part of my body that moves is my head from watching the ball go over it 77 times a game.

                          9) Do the players always play in the same position on the field or is there a rotation? Big kids up front and in the back.

                          10) Has the team evolved from the beginning to the end of the season? Has your child progressed as a player? Lol yes we got older.

Signed Bruno player aka stiff neck.

Worst run club out there, offers absolutely nothing for the money.

Great job yesterday Bruno. Way to keep it classy. 3 yellow cards and punching opposing players in the face.

Let's not even get into the behavior of the parents
