As a Bayside parent I completely disagree with you. My kid will tell you straight up that everything she has learned to do at bayside gets her yelled at by coaches in high school. At Bayside you'll sit if you just put a head on a goalie kick and not take it with your chest down to your feet - in high school, coaches just want it out of their zone and heading in the air is awesome.

I agree that some players look awful in high school and excel in premier. I also believe many of them are just playing not to get hurt.

You are making my point, if your HS coach tells you not to play they way you have been trained at BS, and you play the way your HS tells you, how is BS responsible for the poor play? Is you kid not able to play any style other than BS and consequently is completely unable to play? if so, you should leave BS immediately, they have ruined your kid.

Just in case you need directions to the EWG game--go down 95, turn left at the pile of cow manure, pass three more piles of cow manure, then turn right at the big pile of cow manure. There will be a bigger pile of cow manure in front of you. The game is behind that pile. Have fun and watch out for coyotes.

East Greenwich has at a minimum 4 Bayside players and Pilgrim's top scorer is from Bayside.

Another indication of the amount of wannabees on this site who think they actually know something about premier soccer int he state.

High school soccer recognizes and rewards individual effort and athleticism - Premier teams like Bayside punish individual efforts and stress team-based possession and letting the ball do the work.

When a player plays in a system like this during crucial development years, some aspects of their game can be under developed like carrying the ball, 1-1, etc.

All I'm saying is the high school venue is a terrible environment for the Bayside style - just as many athletic, fast, and aggressive girls who excel in HS soccer would be run around in circles in a sub-regional game.
