I wouldn't - I'd consider them the best of a bad lot.

I'm so conflicted about the upcoming LaSalle/EWG match. On one hand, I want LaSalle to kick their ass and demonstrate what a mediocre D1 team can do to the top D2 school. On
the other hand, I want EWG to kick their ass so LaSalle peeps will finally get their come uppance.

I guess I need LaSalle to win -the downside of EWG parents claiming they beat the dynasty and could have won state cup the last 4 years if they had only been playing in D1 would be intolerabe.

I'm also conflicted. Should my daughter take the SATs that day, or play in the game?

Looking at Projo stats, lasalle has given up only 6 shots in 3 games.

Can someone please take this person aside and explain what "premier" means in regards to youth soccer? And also explain that no one actually represents RIIL on the playing field. Good luck. It might take awhile to get through to this well intentioned but woefully misinformed individual.

From RIIL handbook:

"As members of their team, a student athlete serves as a role model. The are admired and respected by many, including younger athletes and their behavior and actions often have a significant impact on others. The student athlete plays an essential role in the promotion of sportsmanship and they must accept the responsibility to always display high standards of sportsmanship."

To participate in a RIIL regulated sport, you must conform to RIIL rules and expectations; you can quibble if that does or does not mean the student-athlete "represents" RIIL (or more specifically the community of school officials who comprise RIIL), but RIIL certainly has the power to remove and/or penalize coaches, fine member schools, and deny students the ability to play.

As for premier, yes, we all know how meaning..in RI, it's being on a premier team..which means a team of a premier club..which means you got the SRI clique to approve you and you convinced enough parents to field 4 teams.. As for it "meaning" something, we'll the premier club directors have let that slide in general so it can mean anything from being one of the top players in an age group to having a parent that will write a large enough check and drive you around..and a lot of variance in between..

I doubt that it will be a high scoring game. I would guess EWG 3, MSC 1.
