OMFG this is ridiculous. She must be volunteering - what a mockery of a coach. She is like kryptonite to developing young girls into better soccer players.

Please don't let your kid play for this

CD is a complete and utter disaster for ODP. She has been fired from every job she has ever held. Yes she has an A license but she also has a chip on her shoulder the size of a boulder and cant connect with any of players she coaches. ODP will fall flat next year. Horrible decision from SRI. Likes to spend most of her time on the field talking about herself to her players. Sad sad sad....

They planned this all along knowing DT was not seeking another term or better he was forced out. They should have table it. Trust me there are few younger people who cares about youth soccer that wanted in but maybe thru attrition. Call it what you like but until nature take it's course youth will continues to be in the dark ages.

LoL...... That is soooo funny but true. Pretty much the lesson plan at most of her practices.

You people have nothing better to do? Bunch of clowns. I suppose you are ALL top level coaches being shunned by SRI. It's easy to say SRI is a close knit fraternity that nobody on the outside can break into...especially if you don't plan to get up off your #$% anyway.

When is the last time SRI had an open election? Please answer wise@$$. We may not be a bunch of top notch coaches or have an A license for that matter. But we do care about youth soccer and feel the need to see our players succeed especially at ODP level. Having this clown as the leader isn't helping the cause.

SRI just held their annual elections on March 26. They hold them every year at their Annual Meeting, which is scheduled almost a year in advance and plainly posted on their website.

You mean this - The President, Secretary, Vice President Competitive, Vice President ODP, Vice President Top Soccer/Soccer Start and Vice President Membership shall be elected in even numbered years by majority vote at the Annual General Meeting for a period of two (2) years or until their successors have been elected.

Soccer RI Communism Party. Leadership through succession. That's nice. I wonder where is fair election in this process.

As has been documented on this forum many, many times, an individual needs to first get elected to a leadership position on the local level. That individual is then invited to particpate in SRI quarterly meetings. It is at these quarterly meetings that nominations are taken for SRI board positions, of which local representatives are eligible. You put in for a nomination, a ballot is taken and if you get enough votes, you're in. That's how you get elected to the SRI Board.

The process is very similar to most authoritative youth sports organizations, including Little League Baseball.

But none of this happens to people who sit in front of a computer and just complain. If you are really sincere about making changes and making a difference, then run for your town association presidency. If you don't know your town's election process works - ASK.

If your views are held by the majority of your town association members that actually care enough to show up at your town association's annual meeting, then you will have no problem getting elected.

The fact of the matter is...most people who complain aren't willig to take the time nor effort to run. It's just easier to complain. The reality is that virtually every youth sports organization is begging for more adult involvement.

By the way, OD is no longer on the SRI Board. No more conflict of interest with his running SL.

Exactly right.....I wrote the "clown" comment...just to be clear. So if all you "complainers" really care about soccer in RI, then GET INVOLVED at your club and really learn all sides of all the issues. Most parents THINK they know what's going on but they just don't. I have been involved in my local club and recently took on more of a role. It is costing me many hours per week but the alternative would have been to sit around and complain and watch the club die a slow death. The only way change happens is when new people get involved. So GET INVOLVED!

I think Soccer-RI people are doing a great job. They have managed to walk the fine line between keeping the town programs happy while letting premier grow as they wish. Myself I would just prefer a bit more latitude in the now 4 town rule and premier players playing in classic blue.

I think there should be no premier players allowed in classic blue and I think the 4 town rule would be even better as a 6 town rule. My reason for that is premier is still out of reach for some of the lower income kids with talent. A good coach could make a premier caliber team in Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls because it's cheaper as they do not need to rent practice areas. It could force a weaker premier club or 2 out of business but so what, it's supposed to be about soccer not making $$$. The racial diversity on some premier teams does not reflect the racial diversity of the state and it should.

So to all the people listed here:

Well done keeping the kids happy on the fields.

Um you don't have to be a licensed coach or director to know a horrible person when you see one.

This person is a wreck and classless reflection upon SRI.

It takes exactly zero guts to negatively characterize another person with an anonymous post on a forum like this one.

Frankly, your post says more about the kind of person you are than about whom you are posting.
