Lot's of bashing here of JK and the rays. Let's face it there never was and probably will never be a more successful premier program here in rhody like the rays were. Parents and egos are what ruined it. The guy won 285 freaking games in high school!!! Look at the TW U18 roster. bet 90 percent were originally rays girls before half the parents and snotty players up and left to join fortuna and then the next year after fortuna beat them they all left. Was a good program and if not for that year's team and the one afterwards busting them up then maybe we would still have a great premier team in RI

Why does JK get all the credit?
The real credit goes to former SRI prez LF who made sure the Rays were the only premier game in town. SRI would not allow Northern Lightning (Blackwatch), Bayside, South Coast (Bruno) or MidState have girls teams.
Now Bayside, Blackwatch, Bruno all have to play catch up with the Mass teams which should never have happened in the first place. Like the lottery it's easy to make money when you're the only legislated game in town. Good thing that mafia was broken up.

Exactly!
A real successful program has a long-term strategy to ensure the sustainability of the organization. Why fault the parents for having a short-term "get what you can when you can" outlook when that was the philosophy of the club? No plan to develop permanent infrastructure or foster long-term commitment; it was what can you do for us now and shut up and be happy you are on a winning team even if your kid is not playing or we found a better rent a player for this season. The only tactic for building the program was how to use SRI to keep competition down.
Bayside, BW, Bruno have their issues, but at least they are trying to do some of the things on the girls side to build programs that won't be just a flash in the pan.

JKs soccer wins were with the SK high school team--none of those were with the old rays organization.

The Riptide played in sixth division at NEWSS. They lost to Berkshire, a Massachusetts team, in the final by three goals.
So I'm assuming you are saying that the Riptide aren't very good.
Bruno appears to be the team to beat.
