hard to disagree with your top 4 although why no love for cole / bv seems high but they did just smack ports 3-0 / n cum can't beat anyone anymore - just ties - bad sign / fein has a lot of players injured

I'm not MS parent. I just plugged the top 3 teams from each division into my power ranking calculator and this is what came up. Math only. I worked for Theo didn't it? I use a simple formula that takes into account goals for and against, wins, losses and ties. It has been pretty accurate for High School. For middle school where it looks like many teams never see each other until the playoffs, I would think it would be a little accurate, but not way off. Just a little Geeky fun.

BV did beat portsmouth and seem to be moving in the right direction. Cole going wrong way for end of season. Scituate and Deering beat cole few weeks ago then cole scraped by gallagher 1-0 b4 beating up a weak ferri team 5-0.

I would be considered a bit of a soccer snob by some, but I liked MS Soccer. Every level my daughter has played has been enjoyable for me. I've seen college games that were less enjoyable than some MS games.

Motto of the "beautiful game" crew:

"Youth Soccer - if you're having fun, you're doing it wrong."

Would defer to someone who saw the whole match whether the CC 3-0 win over Portsmouth represented true efforts by the better players on both teams -- but is so, would need to relook the rankings.

While running around kicking the ball like 12 year old girls, CC just happened to put three in the goal. That's pretty much what I saw, but the guy standing next to me was comparing their passing game to the 2010-2011 Barcelona team. I must have been missing something.

I think most of are guilty of not seeing the real picture. I was on the sidelines with a group of the parents from my daughter club team and a couple of them made comments how they were surprised at how their daughters never made bad passes. I was wondering when they would actually make a good pass! I can only assume that I probably overlook some of the bad stuff my kid does - although I have't seen anything bad yet:)

Portsmouth couldnt combine on three consecutive passes. They play kick and run and hope someone scores. It's embarrassing. At least CC tries to play, not Barcelona but they try.

Guess what? The team that scores the most goals in each of their next 4 games wins the state championship. Whether they do that with longs balls over the top or 15 consecutive short passes....doesn't matter. Whatever coach figures out how to get the ball in the back of net most wins. You get no points for prettiness. That's the game.

Thanks so much...had no idea about the 'most goals wins' deal.

Boy you are brilliant. That's why your team plays no soccer. Whoever gets it over the top. Haven't heard that yet. I guess you don't want your girls connecting on passes and getting better for the future. Typical non-soccer, can't kick a ball if they tried parent. You must scream boot it during games. kick and run and pray goalie messes up. Nice strategy. They will go far with that!!
