No, it's not RR or CP (the big dude) ... it's the whole team. You are only as strong as your weakest link and that's the advantage that they have over everyone else ... NO weaknesses.

Now you're thinking like a U12/U14 parent. The top-level HS teams (not bottom D1, D2, D3) won't have discernible weaknesses as much as larger drop-offs between replacement players. Similar to baseball WAR (Wins Above Replacement) statistics, each soccer player has a WAR. Not saying I've generated a WAR for the LaSalle players, but they are likely pretty high, but it doesn't mean an much if the front-line players don't get hurt or substituted. My suggestion is that the big dude has the highest WAR for LaSalle. There's plenty of other talent on the front line to replace the other players. There's likely a soccer-type Sabermetric, which also provides WAR by position. You would expect that a center field player would have a higher WAR value than an outside position. You might even expect that a central defender or central midfielder has to have the highest WAR for the team.

Player for player they are better overall. And their bench players are better than many starters on other team. That's just the truth.

          Now you're arguing like a U10/U12 player

Oh I'm not arguing, I'm just telling you what I know. (There is no sarcasm or meanness to what I am saying.)

And our JV team is better than most varsity teams too!

Yet they apparently aren't better than most JV teams they play as they are sub-500. You have no cred.

The JV team that you are referring to was horrible in the game I saw. Would have had a tough time agianst a middle school team.

PCD - Hope - Cranston East - Warwick Vets - Ponaganset - Rogers

                    >>> and then there were 6

                      LaSalle - Tolman - Smithfield - EWG

                      >>> and then there were 4

                      followed by:

                      Shea - Central Falls

6 high quality teams to balance off 6 dreadfully horrible kickball teams.

Some big upsets yesterday ... Central beat Shea & Central Falls beat Barrington. WOW! It's getting exciting down the home stretch.

How was CF (7-1-4) beating Barrington (6-3-2) an upset? A big win but hardly an upset.

Anyone have predictions about who the D I playoff teams will be?

It's LaSalle vs. "Doesn't Matter" in the finals ... LaSalle wins.

... better hope so, or MP will have some explaining to do if LaSalle can't even win in such a weak year statewide.

                                As of today;

                                2.CF 7-1-5 19 pts
                                2.Shea 8-2-3 19 pts
                                4.Portsmouth 8-3-2 18 pts
                                4.SK 8-2-2 18 pts
                                6.NK 6-2-4 16 pts
                                7.Barrington 6-3-2 14 pts
                                8.Hendricken 6-4-1 13 pts
                                9.EP 5-6-2 12 pts
                                10.Cumberland 4-5-3 11 pts
                                --------------------
                                11.Central 5-7-1 11 pts
                                12.Lincoln 1-9-2 4 pts
                                13.Chariho 1-9-1 3 pts
                                14.PCD 0-11-2 2 pts
                                15.Hope 0-11-2 1 pts

Should be a good finish Hendricken, EP, Cumberland and Central all fighting for the final 3 spots.

The real question is who will be dropped to d2 this year I would have to guess PCD and Lincoln with Tolman and Smithfield moving up.
