Did anyone see his FLIP OUT at the Hope game? My nephew plays for Hope and I saw him screaming at his players and pull one off right during a play and then he continued to berate & belittle them at half time. Good luck motivating them to play hard for you.

RIIL could find a few more if they actually followed their own policy of asking schools for the off-season list of non-school participation by their athletes..and then supplemented it by asking the same for the coaches.
PROVIDENCE — North Kingstown High School was fined $200, placed on probation for three years and its boys soccer coaches suspended for two games each as a result of violating a Rhode Island Interscholastic League rule that prohibits a high school coach from coaching prospective members of his team during the offseason of his sport.
Assistant coach XXXX (my edit), hired in 2009, has coached an outside team that includes his son and other members of the Skippers’ soccer team, a violation of Article 7 Section 6 D of the RIIL Rules and Regulations. An anonymous letter to the RIIL office prompted an investigation.
In a letter Sept. 13 to RIIL executive director Tom Mezzanotte and to the PCOA, North Kingstown High principal Thomas W. Kenworthy acknowledged the violation and wrote that it “was not intentional and at the heart of the matter is about a father looking to coach his son in a sport they both love.”
Kenworthy mentioned that Dushi, head coach Kyle Froberg, athletics director James Marcello and he were not “fully aware of the scope of Article 7, Section 6 D, and its implications.” He has instructed Marcello to make sure that all North Kingstown coaches are aware of the rule and to review the rule in future preseason coaches’ meetings.
Uhh..shouldn't you go over this rule with the coaches right after the *end* of the season..the violation is about coaching in the off-season, not during the season. Wouldn't it make more sense to talk with the coaches right when their season ends (shouldn't you also be doing a performance evaluation, etc?) about their responsibilities during the off-season?
The rule is pretty straightforward so it's a big laughable that a Principal/AD and a long-time coach (ODP coach as well) don't understand it. If you are coaching a U14 or U16 town team in the spring, you're pretty much going to have "prospective members" for your school..and if you are a premier coach, it's not difficult to know if any of the players are from your town and attending your high school.
Article 7, Section 6D – No. During the academic year, the high school coach may not coach prospective members of a high school, club, freshman, JV or varsity during the off-season of his/her sport.

the more laughable section was this comment:
"This puts everybody on a level playing field,” Mezzanotte said"
This from the head of the body that drags its feet on realignment and allows private schools that draw from multiple towns to compete in the public league. Want a level playing field -- put the private schools back in their prep school leagues.
Oh, and while you rightly have a rule about coaching your prospective players in the off-season, how about the coaches in/affiliated with ODP/Premier teams that don't directly coach the team, but certainly are in a position to influence.
"Recruitment of students or attempted recruitment of students for athletic purposes, regardless of their residence, is a gross violation of the by-laws of the RIIL and is expressly forbidden."

Lincoln was awful. They played boot ball the whole time. There's a few kids with some decent talent but they are on an island. I felt bad for them. They shouldn't have even scored the goal they did. LaSalle had an inexperience player start at defense because of an injury and he totally misplayed the ball. Other than that they didn't even get a shot off on goal. And the game was played on a TINY field. Awful & painful to watch!

The game was 3-1 at half time and you would think Lincolns coach would try to coach and keep the game close and respectable but instead he put EVERYONE into the game. There were players that did not belong on the field never mind on a JV program, AWFUL is a understatement. If LaSalle actually shot the ball more the second half instead of taking it easy they could have scored 10+ goals. Lincolns replaced there starting Goalie(big mistake he kept the game close) and replaced him with a undersized goalie and everything shot on goal went in...again what was the coach thinking.

Lincoln dad here. The shots that Lasalle took int he 2nd half were actually pretty good. I don't necessarily think they were the goalies fault. Lasalle COULD have scored more if they didn't have such individual players out there. The defense and midfield was working hard to work the ball up the field and then once they got in the final third they became individual players. I saw only one of their forwards who kept trying to continue the one touch passing and work the ball right in (which could have easily been done) but most of them just wanted to razzle and dazzle and would lose the ball, lucky for us. Overall, they were a fun team to watch with loads of talent. Unfortunately the coach just screams at them the whole time and embarasses players out there when they make a mistake. They look like they are playing under a lot of pressure. He was so annoying to listen to I thought he was going to have a stroke on the sidelines.

I hope the team went out for Ice cream after the pretty nice job of playing.
