Are we going back to grade level?

That would be great and would make total sense.

Colleges would like it too. Less confusion as to what they are looking at on a team. “9th grader or 10th grader”....etc.

Oh crap...I just woke up. Same sht.

GDA and ECNL are not soliciting clubs. Clubs do the application and are selected..or not.

There is a lot of cynicism out here with good reason. Everything that goes in youth soccer is always about money.
Totally agree, the weekly travel should be less and not require overnight stays which drives the cost of ECNL and DA up. A concern now more than ever. Further travel for tournaments and showcases should then be up to the team, but not required. The only way to do this would be to have one league formation - think of it like college with different divisions, not ECNL competing with DA for the best teams, rather they play in the same league. EDP, ICSL etc would also be in the league, although most of those teams would play in the lower divisions. But there are also some EDP teams that could compete with ECNL and DA teams at some age groups

So their coaches can go to a game and know all the kids are in the same graduating class.

Well whoever this person is she must have a crystal ball.

Or maybe ibyc was meant to be discussed at the ECNL meeting (it was) but was tabled because it was getting rolled up into something larger (that's what happened).

US Soccer has $0 budgeted for the either academy after 2021. Let that sink in

Vision? Isn't their vision the reason why GDA blows and BDA is crashing and burning after 10 years?! If they had vision, they would be king! Whatever they have done, make sure to do the opposite. Saying you want to be the de facto top league, producing the top players for the professional ranks was their vision ..... they are far from either, and I expect are the reason we have lost so much on the men's side in the last 10 years. 'Vision'?! Please!!

didn't work in the past, that is why we have an ECNL today. ECNL has worked out well for clubs.

Not true. Some teams play up kids to challenge them.

ECNL did not work out well. That is why GDA came about. It started out well but when founding commissioner left for MLS office in Atlanta i think, the thread came apart. Clubs with Doc's on the ECNL Board were tipping things to their favor, schedules, PDP picks, field selection in showcase/playoffs.

So does Penn Fusion get invited to ECNL? If so, what does that do to ECNL clubs like Bucks and Delco?

There will be a mass exodus from both bucks and Delco to go to penn fusion, many stayed away from PF because they wanted to play HS.

To play in EDP? The mass exodus will be PF coaches going to Bucks and Delco.
