They do a great job for their membership.
Agreed. There were lines of coaches at some trainings.

Classics??? I remember seeing PF run circles around them in GDA. Not even a competition.
Classics is a good club but needs work.

No. They are lost in the list.
It doesn't work that way. The ECNL know that the status of the league will draw the players. PA Classics were doing well in the younger age groups in GDA, and now, they become the best option in Central PA again. PF without DA levels the playing field with other clubs, and if they don't get ECNL, they go back to town soccer. That ECNL patch is powerful, if they don't get in, it's bye bye college coaches.

The patch ain’t gonna be real powerful if the college scholarships dry up - which is a real possibility. Do your research. And tell your kid to hit the books for the best scholarship money.

Spot on, lots of colleges considering cutting programs all together and in most cases budgets do that means less scholarship money!

from above link - A new, high-level, elite youth soccer league is expected to launch after the demise of the DA, and we are told that it may be called the United League and is expected to offer regional competitions.

As the article notes, when one door opens another closes.

PF is always in the forefront especially with girls soccer.

As others have pointed out, it never won a national championship in ECNL or GDA. But it was considered a top level club in both leagues having competed in championship divisions in both leagues for post season play.

Has a great turn out for try outs. Has great college placement history and success with kids actually contributing. And despite the lack of league hardware, has alumnae that are national champions in all college divisions.

Has had success with its alumnae in college, has very good coaches and still gets a great turn out at try outs and alumnae events.

In the summer, the girls come back for great training and to reconnect. That speaks about the club. That is a success.

That patch is worn by teams that can't break .500 in weak competition. It is less the patch and more the kid and the club. The kid has to be motivated and the club develops.

If the club is known for developing (not just playing the same players), is a club that will not oversell a kid, is considered a quality club, coaches will come to watch with or without a patch.

Spot on! Far to many parents are blinded by the patch - and think just bc their kid has a fancy patch sleeve a D1 ride is guaranteed. They even ignore the facts that are staring them in the face with the lack of D1 college commitments coming from the local ECNL clubs, and are willing to except subpar training, coaching and development all bc a club is in the ECNL. It’s actually shocking how uneducated some people are.

It's not the parents, the college coaches like these "elite" leagues for scouting purposes, makes life easier. PF needs to mend some bridges or there will be trouble.

Face facts. Your kid plays for a ****ty EDP Club with ZERO D-1 commits. Sorry.

And the club will fade away on the girls side if it fails to get ECNL.

These days are over if they don’t get in ECNL.
Lots of D3s and weak D1 programs on that list. Not terribly impressive.
