You don’t have to admit it. It’s ok. Word is already out about the 06 npl parents bashing the club and this team/coaches. Emails were sent to the club about it.

That’s fine - I would love for you to list what has been said on here that isn’t a fact. Yes there is some bashing , but there is also tons of factual information, so if that factual information makes the club look bad, well then I guess the truth hurts.

Nothing needs to be refuted. The parents of this team are happy. You aren’t even part of this team so why are you so involved in bashing it? Why are you not pleased with the npl team?

No ecnl-rl players will be called up next year. There are a few really good prospects coming to tryouts in spring. This i do know. I guess this thread had no impact after all.

Really? My daughter could possibly make this team, and I have no intention of bringing her anywhere close to this team with the history of the BRD and the fact that this team is not run well - a coach that is basically absent, the dad who is allowed to run the team, and the lack of practice

My oldest played ECNL for 2 years at U14 and U15 .... regretted not leaving after the first year, but no way I was doing it a third year. Questioned the coach about how bad the team was after year 1 and was assured it would get better .... it did not, we declined her offer and went to a better club/team.

Most parents on this team are right now thinking the same thing... last year was bad this year even worse - no way I am doing it a third year. Why the hell should I spend thousands of dollars for the same things to happen next year. Many kids want to stay with their friends so in the end some will keep their kid on the team but for sure some will have had enough. Definition of insanity - doing the same thing over and over again yet expecting different results.

Absent some real changes in the coaching staff - there will definitely be a few kids leaving. Peoples eyes have been opened.

I also heard a few really good players are coming in the Spring so if you don’t like it hit the road and make some room.

I heard 1/3 of the team is looking seriously elsewhere. $5 bet you have a net loss if talent next year which makes this team drop even more. The truly top talent currently on the team will have options and take their skills elsewhere, as they should. Top talent outside the club do not want any part of this fiasco. You are going to replace your too talent for sure with kids who want a sleeve patch and whose parents are still naive. There are plenty of them, but they are a huge drop off in talent from the top half starters you will lose. If you were lucky one or two of them might have been bottom half starters, but the rest of them would have been bench players. Would not surprise me now, as much negativity as there is in this team, that you just don't get 5 or 6 new players that would not have been starters. A token kid or two from the npl team and 3 or 4 outsiders from much lower level teams that have speed (but not very technical and a low soccer IQ) but want water cooler bragging rights and the vaunted sleeve patch. BTDT. Get out now before you waste more time and money.

Sage advice and this echoes everything I’ve been hearing and thinking.

Who in their right mind would sign up for another year of this? And what about this team would make it attractive to top level talent - surely the checked out head coach, the unqualified dad coach, the lack of practices and poor facilities will not bring top talent. What you will get is lower level patch seekers and your team will have a net loss of talent making it worse next year. Meanwhile the top level clubs will add top talent making the gap between the top and bottom clubs that much wider. And then the losses turn to blow outs and the fun stops.

Take the posters advice and get out before you waste thousands more. The ship is sinking fast.

Also keep in mind, the costs of ECNL soccer will drastically increase next year. We will have at least 2 trips which require flying - trips that this team currently does not make. Between flights, hotel, rental car and other expenses, you are easily looking at another $3,000 for next year on top of what we are already paying. Of course if this team makes the playoffs, which doesnt seem likely, but if it does, then you are looking at another west coast trip for another $1500 or more.

So yeah, what really is the definition of insanity - is doing the same thing over and over again - AND PAYING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS MORE!!!! yet expecting different results.
