Your right. At least we are past the “everyone on the team is there because they earned it” crap and you acknowledge reality. Also know that most companies have anti nepotism policies that prohibit hiring children or other family members of employees or prohibit children or family members from reporting to or even being in the same reporting chain as a parent or family member. Why is that?

Prohibit with exceptions are most policies. If everything is open and has been approved by management, then it's okay. Pretty sure nothing is hidden about a parent coach and a kid with the same last name on the team. If you aren't happy, then move along.

I was sad to see any kid being pointed out directly! That should never happen. I think both of our goalies tried their best. The biggest issue is that parents had a problem and didn’t go directly to the coach! Or gossiped on the sidelines, I don’t like that. My daughter got the email to come back next year hopefully this drama doesn’t follow us.

Agreed. The ball has to get through 10 other kids before it gets to the goalie, too. Parents seem to forget that. Their kid watched as the ball went right by them down the field. It's a team sport but many play as individuals. And, we seem to forget that kids, at all ages, are developing, let them. Developing means making mistakes and learning how to correct it. It may take several times, but that is how you learn, by experience.
The record doesn't matter, the learning experience does.
