Here is a breakdown of what ECNL costs. I was very conservative with the travel costs, so it is likely more. This also doesn’t include gas, tolls and food. For travel, I just included hotel, flights and rental cars.

This year - $5500
Next year when we are required to attend two ECNL showcases - $9,500. If we make playoffs - $11,500

I actually think it is pretty accurate. Maybe it is less if your kid travels alone or stays with someone else. But if one parent travels with a kid, it is pretty accurate. Out average hotel costs have been about $225 a night. So $500 (two nights) for Boston, Maryland, Jeff Cup, Bethesda and WAGS is not too far off. I'm sure if you added gas, tolls, and food, it would be even more.

Next year, we will have to attend two showcases. If you look at the ECNL website, it looks like the FC Bucks U16 team is attending one in Phoenix and one in Florida.

For each of these showcases, you have to figure 3 nights hotel - again $225 per night, that is $675, then you figure roughly $300 for a flight - if two people are traveling that is $600. Then a rental car for 3 days is going to cost you roughly $250 -this comes to $1,525. Maybe it is a little higher, maybe it is a little lower - but it seems like a reasonable estimate.

Then of course, ECNL playoffs are in NC this year, so IF (big if!!!) the team makes the playoffs, you are looking at another $1,500, assuming you fly and do not drive. The there is the ECNL finals which is a different weekend in July than the playoffs. Again, if you make it, figure another $1,500 to travel to wherever this is going to be located.

Maybe you have some hotel/airline points to defray the cost. Maybe you break your balls and drive to florida instead of flying to save money -the point is saying you are only paying $3 to 4K is total bull****, especially since we are at $3K with just fees and uniform.


Reality is, you are easily looking at $10,000 starting next year, and another couple grand more if the team does well and goes to playoffs (and its not like you can opt out of the playoffs if you can't afford it - so you are basically committing to this upfront).

These exchanges are just one example of the FC Bucks clownshow. Perhaps you wouldn’t have random people on the internet claiming it costs $3k, $5k or $10k, if the club actually shared information on the true costs with families.

It’s become a Pavlovian response now - someone posts something truthful and irrefutable about this team and like clockwork missy tries to deflect to RL team. No one is buying it.

Not true. I’m not her....and I am buying it. I know the history (the link between) of the 06 bucks Ecnl-rl and the coaches of the ecnl 06 team. The ecnl 06 coaches coached many of the current ecnlRL kids from u10 through u12. Many of the parents assumed their kids would make the u13 ecnl team after the u12 season ended but they didn’t and are very upset even 2 years later. Look for “brd” and know that means upset RL parent alert. They feel there was some conspiracy (brd) and that is why their kids didn’t make the team and others did instead.

Posing as a PSA parent and is your latest joke, and your wrath has now turned to the RL team, because you need a boogeyman to deflect from the reality.

So, we beg if you. Start actually defending the substance. Tell us why you like your coach and why you like the dad sneaking his way in to the assistant position. Why you are ok with with your daughter being threatened by an old man and why you can’t admit that you cozied up with the dad so your kid could secure a spot on the team.

All these other (disgraceful) deflections are just food for your clown show.

This is a very accurate representation of the costs at ECNL starting at u15 age group. And if you figure in time off from work it is actually higher - additionally since the showcases are three days you may even need hotels for 4 nights depending on your game times, and flight availability. This is what you sign up for with ECNL. For some it is worth it for others maybe not. No one cares what anyone does with their money - but it is valuable information that people need in evaluating whether ECNL at Bucks is worth the money, time and travel. And right now it is not an easy sell for your kid to play at bucks which is why you have seen so many leaving the past several years. With the lack of D1 college commitments it is fair question to ask what exactly you are getting for your money at bucks. And it is a worthwhile discussion - there is no need to bash people for bringing up the costs.

By the time your kid is done with ECNL playing from u15-u18 it will have cost close to $50,000. It is up to each individual family as to whether the cost justifies the results. But there is NO WAY it only costs $4,000.00.
