I don't think so. Maybe if the coach has connections with Colleges and that is about it.

If private schools keep recruiting the way they are the past year or so, especially on the girls side, over time they could be much better than a public school team.

I agree - by that isn't the question. no doubt the rich ECNL parents can afford to send their kid to a $30K a year school and that school will dominate. however - regardless of how successful your highschool is... I don't think recruiters are coming to a high school match.

When players are “recruited” is there assistance for sports for tuition? I didn’t think they were allowed bc of PIAA. There seems to be an influx of girls leaving public school to attend private school for soccer and I can’t imagine paying the costs of tuition at a prep school for mainly sports. Granted the education might be better but it seems like they are going for sports specifically.

Perhaps - I was a private school kid and was ahead in some subjects in college and behind comparatively to others to public school kids. Numerous studies have shown Private school offers no advantage in life beyond getting into a good college. Which helps but you don't need a private school to get into a selective college.

And yes private schools offer tution assistance to good players ( academic of need based)... commonly known the Prep does this recruit kids for their Football program.

American Football doesn't have the club culture that soccer has so High School is the primary option for recruitment. Used to be that way in baseball but it too has shifted to all club.

30K a year is cheap....we have two one at $60k that my son was looking at and his friend goes to one that is $80k and he drives in. We will stick with public school.

Some private schools are basically PF club teams at this point, so they're pretty good.

That is if you think PF is good.

If you go the private route, don’t do it for soccer. Yes, some
private schools are known for their soccer program. Pennington is a good example, NJ powerhouse soccer program. However, even these kids are recruited from PDA, Match Fit, etc. As for the quality of education, I would say it varies based on which private and public we are comparing. If your child is thriving in public school, then don’t try to fix it. If your child is struggling and the private can address those issues then go private….if you can afford it. In the end, kids apply to the same universities bases on their academic achievement.

InterAc < PCL < PPL in my area although some of the better PCL teams can rival some Inter AC teams and either tie or beat them

Private school is the best investment you can make for your kids.

Joking aside, genuinely curious if they're actually handing out purely athletic scholarships for boys/girls soccer. Of course they do for basketball/football, but it doesn't seem like it's that worthwhile for a few more soccer wins that most of the school doesn't really care about.

I think that depends heavily on your local schools.
