Correct. Some exceptional, even small enrollment, public schools.

Seeing as playing basketball and football on HS teams plays a part in getting you recruited more funding goes to those kids, however, many private schools recruit for many sports. Many private high schools will make the students family pay a nominal fee so that they can state that no student gets a free ride, but that nominal fee can be what ever the school wants it to be. It could be $100.
SCH have been recruiting heavily for soccer for the past few years, and it especially shows on the girls side.
But for soccer, coaches are for the most part going to club tournaments/games and not HS.

Depends on the Alumni network and if there is a big donor. Same for Football/Basketball. So if some Alum made a lot of money and wants to see his Soccer team win every year - then they create a scholarship.

this is why MLSN allows you to play in High School if your private school funding allows it.

Thanks, didn't really think of it from that angle (single benefactor), but makes a lot of sense.

Definitely schools are recruiting and giving aid in the Inter AC. Five girls went shopping last summer for the best deal as a package. If the schools are willing to ante up, no reason not to.

                No it doesn't.
