I think Everyone can agree that Kurt is a great trainer. Every girls team falls apart around u14/u15 and they don’t seem to really care. The parents are the only ones that try to keep the teams together.

And there is a big difference between teams "falling apart" and being actively lied to, manipulated, misled and ghosted. Like I said, parents of older players had tried to warn us but it took us a while to finally see the light. If you're thinking about leaving, just go, now, before you spend another single cent, and spare yourself and your kid the heartache, confusion and aggravations that will inevitably arise with KK.

KK's methods are effective at the younger ages but once the girls hit 13/14 everyone else has caught up and is way ahead both technically and tactically and Kurt's teams can no longer compete...that's when KK usually discreetly bows out, but in the most indirect way possible, continuing to lead families and kids along and taking their money on top of it.

Yeah yeah. Tell that to the professional players that he has developed. There have been many.
Maybe "back in the day" when technical and tactical didn't matter as much, but the current game has passed Kurt Kelley & co. by and he knows it. Truly, what has the guy done in the last 15 years other than run a sub par youth club?

For casual NWSL watchers, seeing Tullis-Joyce burst onto the scene was incredible to watch. Her instant success on the pitch this season quickly made her a fan favorite not just with OL Reign but around the league. She credits much of her success to Kurt Kelley, her goalkeeping coach from back home on Long Island. “I’ve been playing goalkeeper since I was 12, and I’ve had the same trainer at my home base in New York on Long Island: KK Athletics,” she said. “Kurt was always the type of coach that reinforces being a hard worker. Even if you make mistakes, be a hard worker.”

Yes, she is a success story but she never played for KK/Atletico.
She played for other clubs and Kurt was an additional trainer for her goalie work.
It has been said on other threads and even possibly this one, that Kurt is a very good trainer for goalies, especially if you get him to train your child privately or in small groups. However, if you get anyone else, you are basically playing roulette with who you get.
Then, as a DOC/manager of teams, he is terrible, especially on the girls side. There should be no argument with this statement unless you simply want to be a contrarian. There are presently no teams at the 05, 06 or 07 age groups. We are not going to count the 07 girls Uruguayan team that some of the younger girls help.
He has an 08 team that consists of 7 true 08 girls (although one is out the door), 6 09s and 2 10s. How long before this folds realistically.
He has no 09 team as the team folded when several left to go to SUSA and the rest were merged to keep the 08 team going.
He has two 10 teams, but, how long before that becomes one as he has girls floating back and forth between playing two years up and on age.
I'm not going to discuss the younger age groups because below 10 is 6th grade and lower and there is so much fluidity with children picking sports.
Can there be another Phallon for Kurt? Of course, because that is where he excels, but, at the end of the day, if you are a girl field player at Atletico, there is no path for you and eventually most figure it out. For some, it is too late and for others, they get out and go to a more stable and possibly helpful club, which can get them to where they want to go.

What about Joe Scally? Field player for the Men’s USA team in the World Cup. KK totally developed him and sent him up to NYCFC when he was ready. Now he plays in the World Cup. You are a jealous fool. Leave the guy alone. Clearly your kid wasn’t that good and you know nothing.

I think it’s awesome that a local kid will be playing in the World Cup. that kid must have worked his ass off and he deserves it. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with the teams falling apart in 2022.

Reading comprehension and debating must not be a strong suit of the KK defenders.
The point that was being discussed was that KK had failed the girls side of the club.
Someone brought up Phallon Tallis-Joyce, who is a success story, but, not was not truly a KK player. Then, the club’s present state of the girls side and how lacking it is was brought up.
Instead of continuing to debate this, someone simply throws out Joe Scally’s name and attributes it to KK, which is false or not verifiable. If Joe had trained at KK, similar to the way that KK promotes Phallon on his website, I do believe that he would promote Joe as a former player on his website as well.
And, yes, kudos to Joe Scally on his USMNT selection, it is well deserved.
However, changing topics or throwing red herrings, is not going to the solve the issues with KK/Atletico’s girls program and how it fails the players.
