I would love to know what professional players Kurt Kelley has developed, especially women's players, considering he's never coached a team through HS ages.
Maybe "back in the day" when technical and tactical didn't matter as much, but the current game has passed Kurt Kelley & co. by and he knows it. Truly, what has the guy done in the last 15 years other than run a sub par youth club?

We thought nooo, our daughters team is special, he'd never do that to them...HA! he sure did! First he had us "merge" with ISA and play under their club in one league and then just Atletico in other league, sometimes playing 3-4 games a weekend. Then he dumped us on Brentwood. Then LISC. This was our first kid playing soccer and we didn't know any better, I cringe when I look back and think about what my daughter went through with KK. Luckily she never got seriously injured and eventually we got fed up and went to another club. I think he screwed the rest of the team over for about another year or so until they all got fed up and either left for another club or quit soccer all together. I'm so thankful we left when we did, my daughter is currently playing D1 in college-something that would've never happened had we stayed with KK.
Still think I'm this Matt guy?

She played for other clubs and Kurt was an additional trainer for her goalie work.
It has been said on other threads and even possibly this one, that Kurt is a very good trainer for goalies, especially if you get him to train your child privately or in small groups. However, if you get anyone else, you are basically playing roulette with who you get.
Then, as a DOC/manager of teams, he is terrible, especially on the girls side. There should be no argument with this statement unless you simply want to be a contrarian. There are presently no teams at the 05, 06 or 07 age groups. We are not going to count the 07 girls Uruguayan team that some of the younger girls help.
He has an 08 team that consists of 7 true 08 girls (although one is out the door), 6 09s and 2 10s. How long before this folds realistically.
He has no 09 team as the team folded when several left to go to SUSA and the rest were merged to keep the 08 team going.
He has two 10 teams, but, how long before that becomes one as he has girls floating back and forth between playing two years up and on age.
I'm not going to discuss the younger age groups because below 10 is 6th grade and lower and there is so much fluidity with children picking sports.
Can there be another Phallon for Kurt? Of course, because that is where he excels, but, at the end of the day, if you are a girl field player at Atletico, there is no path for you and eventually most figure it out. For some, it is too late and for others, they get out and go to a more stable and possibly helpful club, which can get them to where they want to go.

I have seen so many kids who come up through this club at a younger age for a few years who then leave, and within 6 months at a new club become so much more of a better player then the years wasted at KK. The training is stale.

Then she played for Match Fit and won a National Championship (back when USYS was still relevant) again Kurt had nothing to do with that team. She played with Kurt once or twice a month when he was an ODP coach and then he let her use his facilities for free to impress the parents of young girls to help try and build a girls program. Nice of her to give him a shout out in an online blog that nobody's ever heard of, but my guess is her time at Miami and playing in France for a few years had a far greater impact on her recent success than KK did, lol.
