What's good about it is the competition is better than LIJSL and the travel isn't as taxing as some of the other options. The set up and structure looks to offer more stability and guarantee that the kids will always have a team to play on, which isn't always a guarantee for one-off EDP teams in smaller clubs, especially as kids get older and develop other interests or choose to concentrate on other sports.
Not so great, the price tag. Around $3000 to sometimes play local teams that cost under $1000.

Long Island Slammers was formed last August during the pandemic, so less than a year ago and clearly not well timed. They have some good teams and seem to be improving but tough to tell with such a small sample size. Training wise, they have the further CW Post head coach and the Assistant coach from Stony Brook University working with the girls program. Boys side, I'm not sure but as someone said they're playing in the EAL and EDP. Time will tell with this club.

They have nothing to do with Smithtown, Stony Brook or KK Atletico (Atletico FC). As far as everyone can tell, they named themselves the way they did on purpose to draw people into their tryouts thinking that they were one of those other three clubs.
