I actually think if Barca eschews building fields it's to their benefit. Having your home base in the middle of nowheresville Suffolk County was a bad idea. It basically alienates many kids from Nassau and Qns. You'd have 2 major clubs battling over a smaller base of kids bc they are in in the middle of nowhere. I think the point is SUSA has some fields now whereas Barca isnt going to. In reality, I think its advantageous to NOT own fields. The only real reason to own fields was to gain admission to DA. plug this location into google map and pick satellite view. looks like the area for the 2 lower left fields is ready to go and have the turf installed. You can see also in the top left the work being done for the retaining wall. I think we may see 2 fields by summer with a gravel parking lot to start. Keeping my fingers crossed....
