They are creating another stream of income for themselves and their affiliate clubs who already have 22 player rosters. They get a whole other group of parents to pay because they are told their kids are elite. Then they are told that their kids learn in training and winning and playing time doesn't matter.

All of the back-and-forth about NYCFC GDA folding has to have some measure of truth. Seems very plausible considering the variables, weak league, low tryout numbers, and a safe place to land after the fact. I think that WCFC will field ECNL2 teams, u-14-u-19 next year, but the big nut is, who is going to the the A team, and the B team?? And who decides? There are Dad coaches at WC that will not accept their daughters being on the ECNL2 team, and that will be a whole other powder-keg, hahahahaha.

WC already has their “B” teams in NE NPL, which is run by ECNL. ECNL2 is likely just a renaming of NE NPL in this area. The main question is if NYCFC leaves GDA, how many players will go to WC ECNL versus head over to NYSC GDA (or somewhere else). And if a lot of players go to WC ECNL, then current ECNL and NE NPL players will likely get shuffled.

I think you will be surprised at a few of the age groups that there will be no re-shuffling and the GDA kids will just need to find a new home unless of course they like the B team. And then in the other age groups there will be utter chaos...teams and folks will all be looking to move around due to unhappiness regarding their placement when the GDA kids arrive.
