Good luck in your other cup games.
Thanks and good luck to this team and your kid's team too.

Surf brought it onto themselves. All spring and summer Larry was touting Surf as the next greatest thing. Parents were salivating at the prospect of their kid instantaneously becoming the equivalent of a Man U player by throwing on a Surf jersey. That rarely works, unless your kid is playing football and your coach's is named Jim Harbaugh.
Surf claimed they would not rehash old, stale area coaches and bring in new ones outside the area. They lucked out with the new SB coach and got Clinton but that's not really importing new coaches because those coaches are already in the area. They still have no girls DOC. They didn't get the GDA that Larry swore they would get. We're rolling into October with no DOC and no ECNL announcement. And now it looks like they are going to being bringing over other club's teams that help bail them out.
Of course some of the U16 Surf parents bragging about CASL and Disney just keeps the bullseye on their back. But that's on them. They're just keeping the gallery with more popcorn-munching opportunities.
But perhaps the best is watching Larry try to pick himself back after the Surf debaucle and attempt to reassert his top-dog soccer know-it-all status. He himself will keep us in business until next summer.

We can't leave now as we are kind of stuck. We will definitely not be returning. We are trying out for a club we should have been on when leaving our last club. I am regretting this decision now. Also, Larry may have had an impact on others, but he had nothing to do with our decision. We put our trust in others and it did sound like Surf would be the next big thing. It's just another club with different BS.
PR outsmarted Larry again and got the Suffolk GDA franchise. ECNL will become what NPL is to boys, a nice competitive league but not one to produce many collegiate players.
I also predict if SUSA builds the CI project along with their other indoor assets they will be bankrupt within 5 years. The market just is not big enough to support this much build out and middle of the road teams will not pay premium prices for something they don't need. SUSA is massively overestimateing the potential market in Suffolk and thus their neeeded revenue stream to give them an acceptable ROI and support an even modest debt load.

SUSA will be out of business from the way it treats it's players, nevermind the building project. Wins and dollars at the cost of development.

You won't find that on BOTN because it's the truth and not spin.
At this point they could make the pope DOC and it wouldn't matter, they are done. They made the fatal flaw of thinking you can franchise a soccer club like opening a McDonalds. It's just not that simple.

That said I don't think they're "done." I do think they will scale back and re-group. They've fully realized (at last I hope so - it's right there plain as day) that a shotgun approach to the market wasn't the way to go; a more tightly targeted approach is better and then they can build from there.

Perhaps focusing on the girls side all summer - and publicly announcing that strategy - lead parents of boys to think they were just a financial pawn to launch the other side.
