Surf 01 parent here...3 01 girls got picked up by current coaches - one to Adelphi to play for Brooke and the twins went to Stony Brook to play D1 for Brendan. Seven on our 01 team have committed in total.

Congratulations to the 3 girls. Did they get $ or are they walk-ons?

That’s it? And just those two schools? NY Surf was supposed to be the equivalent of SD Surf. The expectation was that the girls would get recruited to higher level D1 schools. They have all those soccer coaches. I’d be pissed at the 3 players/2 local schools after all hype of having college coaches in the first place.

I don't think that there is anyone out there deluding themselves anymore that Surf is some superhighway to D1 soccer.

Like most clubs they have a few decent teams but other than that is nothing special. It will be interesting how long they can afford all the names on the masthead at this rate.

Same story everywhere - our DA teams pump out lots of non D1...fragmentation is this areas problem.
