I don’t know how or why but they are just much better. It’s shocking to watch little kids 5-10 yrs old using body fronts, step overs at speed w/o looking at the ball.
I honestly believe the multitude of sports in the US have watered down the pool of players.
    ⚽️ 🏈🏀⚾️🥍 etc
When everyone plays at a young age and almost if not daily you tend to be better. The US likes to structure everything thinking that it is the only and best way to learn anything.

Leave those golden oldies over in Japan so the team can move on like the USMNT.

Move on? With what players? They aren't ready. Thanks to an underwhelming league due to college not fully developing players.

Well, they got 2 years to figure that out. Hopefully some of the older players retire and step aside for younger players to get the time in. But they won't, they still want their huge payday from US Soccer they think they will get with the new contract and lawsuit.

International players also follow and study the game, even if they don't realize that's what they're doing. Watch multiple matches a week with family and friends and you're learning the game. Thr majority of our players play a few hours a week and that's it.

If you're not picked then you're not picked. Many of the players this time were picked for marketing and sponsorship potential, not skill

I'm sure that is part of it, but some of the future "stars" have seriously flaws. The young woman from Stanford moves everything to her right foot like an 8 year old. How is that possible at this level? These are supposed to be the best players we have.

Are you talking about Catarina Macario? Most of the times she's on the left so bringing to her right would be to center on net but she is a phenom in the making. You can see the Brazilian influence in her style as she doesn't play ground and pound like most of the US and instead is very comfortable playing it out of the air. She has the choice to stay with the USWNT or go to the BWNT so lets hope she stays.

They must feel great running up the score in extra time

They Have to for goal differential rule. They need many goals to get them through and win the next game.

Yep, they were at GD -3 entering the game, so they definitely needed as many goals as they could get in this game.

Yes it's not enjoyable to watch but necessary. Last thing you want is to not qualify because you're a goal short

Tied AUS 0-0....So to recap, the once mighty USWNT lost 0-3, Won 6-1 then tied 0-0. So they couldn't even score against 2 of the 3 opponents they played. It will only get tougher in the knock out rounds and may end up with Sweden in finals, if they make it that far.
