Good keepers want to play with other quality players. So maybe quality not there really. A good record does not equate to quality.

Good GKs look for quality GK training and good competition. The team is less important, and in fact getting shelled can also be a good learning experience.

Exactly. Many top players at 11 or 12 are not in the top player convo at 16/17. Genetics takes over.
On another note, not too many gk's at that age want to be shelled or injured either.
