My D has played at several levels up to ECNL and each year games are more physical with less and less advantage fouls being called and almost never any yellow cards....if you watch the boys games they are physical but the straight arms, elbows etc normally get called....
There is a difference between physical play and physical fouls...

“Welcome to the game” is completely inappropriate for an adult to say to a child (because let’s not forget we are talking about children here) who is on the field seriously injured.
