A statement taken out of context and spun into an egregious act. It was a reference to the physical nature of the game not the incident nor was it directed at the child.

Shouldn’t have been said, the coach could see the player was in pain on the ground. That’s not sportsmanship!

I also said that I know the coach in question, and based on what I know, this is not a preposterous claim at all. I wasn’t there, but this story is legitimately plausible, again…solely based on my experience with this coach
Do you know the player or the family of the girl that is being accused of aggressively and purposefully breaking her opponents nose? You’re posting information as if you believe only one side and in turn are slandering the other.

In what context would it be acceptable to say that loud enough for the parent-sideline to hear when there is a young player on the ground crying in pain?

            You are quoting me here…

I posted the link to the video, and clearly said it was “one side’s version of what happened.” I also said that I highly doubt that the girl intentionally threw an elbow. At that age and level, with girls no less….I don’t buy that at all. Regardless, reposting someone else’s video is not slander.

I do think the coach is dumb enough, and insensitive enough, to say something like that. The fact that he refused to give his name after, when confronted, kind of confirms it for me. And yes, I do know the coach in question. He has a reputation for being inappropriate like this, on and off the field.

In no context is it appropriate.

The people posting this don’t really care. They are trying to make CSA look bad by exploiting this situation. Sad people, but expected.

I don’t think people are trying to make CSA look bad. I’m certainly not.

I think it’s specifically directed at Jim Lagarde.

But why would they need to apologize??? Soccer is a physical sport and many coaches tell their teams to play that way. If you can’t handle it don’t play the sport. If the coach tells the players to send a message what is that player supposed to do ignore it?

As far as a girl getting injured, no one necessarily has to apologize. I wasn’t there, but I have a hard time believing a girl INTENTIONALLY injured another player. It’s a Physical game, etc, etc…Injuries do happen, and it’s unfortunate.

If the coach said what he is accused of saying, then he should have apologized. He could easily have said “listen, I had no idea it was a seriously injury, and of course I wasn’t celebrating a girl getting injured, but just got wrapped up in the physicality of the game, which seemed ok at the time..” Or something to that effect. And all would be forgiven.

To refuse to give your name makes it seem like he acknowledged he ****ed up, but could t own up to it. It’s a bad look to everyone, including the neutrals. And knowing the guy in question, I absolutely believe he said it. It’s a terrible look for him, and now for the whole organization.

This is the real issue with girls soccer today....the fact that so many think it is a "physical sport" where pushing, holding , pulling jerseys, elbowing, and knocking players to the ground to gain possession is a natural and legal way to play....it has gotten worse each year.to the point that most of the winning teams are all bigger with very aggressive players that rarely get carded for hard/late fouls....so I am surprised more girls are not getting hurt...
