Now you are talking about something different. A girl who never played soccer isn’t going to play college soccer. PERIOD! I was paying close attention to the college scandal and even though none of those kids played the sport and used the sport to get into college, they never actually played the sport in college either.

Not the poster - that scandal was pretty limited in scale, especially when it came to soccer. Singer sprinkled his fake players across schools and sports. Now, might a big alumni donor push to get their kid on a roster? Part of the so-called side door admission? Definitely it can happen but again it's pretty rare. More importantly the player will have played, they just aren't good enough to qualify. They won't get any money, won't play and probably will quit after awhile. I agree with above that ADs now want coaches to prove their recruits are actual athletes.

The applications request A lot of specifics- it’s impossible to avoid unless you lie and then they will find out the minute they speak with the club/ HS coach. If club coach lies, then it affects rest of the roster so unlikely.
I think that Veo, Hudl and others only store stats if the coach enters them (they do not track things like subs and minutes unless the coaches take the time to do them). Have yet to see any ECNL/ECRL teams actually track those stats. My D's high school team used Hudl Assist for stats, but minutes per player were not part of that.

so basically you don’t need to play minutes but be on a top team and can get recruited by association? Wow what has this come to…

There are a ton of players on Alabama and Georgia’s football team who are on the bench that would be studs for other teams. To some people starting in a game isn’t as important as practicing with the very best talent and learning from great coaches. This is why some coaches look closely at bench players on a club like PDA. For the record I would not suggest to my kid that she sits and watches games from the bench. But i know for fact this scenario exists.

like real estate what is happening local is all that matters and in NJ and NY, no GA team is leaving for EcRl. And you know that. ECRL is an inferior product in this neck of the woods.

There are some kids that do not start but get 60 -70 percent playing time. That’s a very healthy situation.

You want to be in top 15 of a roster - a regular starter or first sub off the bench with good minutes. It you're 15+ then a different may be a better fit. However, coaching and quality of competition is still an important consideration. It’s easy to be a starter and slice through easy competition. You're won't learn much not being challenged by teammates and competition

PDA is the best ECNL team and wins the most games by far in the area. After that, generally, the best teams are in the GAL

Are we talking just nj clubs or including any clubs that NJ kids might choose? NY clubs or even some PA clubs are often chosen by nj players.

If you're including NY and PA, wcfc and SUSA are above GAL teams. Also, I'm not a local GAL club owner. Just a parent with an opinion on NJ landscape
