coach: I see you recorded a total of 15 minutes of play time this season, why is that?
Player: come watch me at showcase I’ll play there!
coach watches: team loses 4-0. Player gets nothing out of it.

    Did I get that right?
No, unless player is the striker and missed a lot. Losing has no bearing on how you played.

They actually don't - so that's why the showcase is really just for show. The coaches already knows who plays meaningful minutes and makes an impact and they already have been contacted. In the past that information wasn't available so a showcase was more important. Now its a money grab IMO. If you play on a high level team but DO NOT PLAY in league games or more than at least 1/2 a game - move teams. The coach likely doesn't believe in you and you could be a great player but no one would know if you don't play.
Where are all these so called stats kept and by who? I can’t find any. And if this were the case and your statement were true than how could pda north have 54 girls go play soccer last year? They all certainly weren’t starters.

It’s called video footage available of every game. And with Veo, hudl and even better tech, it tracks minute and player. Hard to hide. Coaches are not stupid- do you really think a coach won’t know if the player never plays? The applications request A lot of specifics- it’s impossible to avoid unless you lie and then they will find out the minute they speak with the club/ HS coach. If club coach lies, then it affects rest of the roster so unlikely.

More than 70% went to low level schools. 30% did well. Anyone could play soccer in college if they want- even if they never played the sport. It’s been repeated over and over quantity is one thing, quality another. That why that stat is completely ridiculous.

How can you possibly look good in any position losing 8-1?

If score mattered in the recruiting process, in this scenario, the entire PDA Blue team would have gotten nothing out of it, not just the bench player. But of course, we know that the final score means very little to a college coach watching a player at a showcase game. In fact, it’s unlikely that a college coach is even going to stay to watch the entire game.
Do you think it’s better to be a bench player that doesn’t play at all on a top ECNL team or a player that actually plays meaningful Minutes on a GA or USYS team? Which player will get looked at by top colleges?

No you are wrong. You can’t play soccer in college if you have never played before. I guarantee you some of those “low level” players could have gone to “better” programs but maybe it wasn’t a good fit for them.

Yes you defintely can. If you have money you can do anything. Note college admissions scandal. Girls on D1 roster never played soccer a day in their lives.

If you don't think coaches/programs started being more closely scrutinized after that you're not the brightest bulb.

Many ways. Plenty of players on losing teams get recruited

Just a bunch of amateurs post after post of TS parents “rationalizing” how college coaches go about in the recruitment process. Just making statement after statement how college coaches look at stats and rosters. You are all crazy. Everything you have posted has no factual basis. Has anyone ever gone to a college showcase and watched how these coaches operate? Everything is scripted beforehand. Coaches have prioritized those payers they want to see live. They don’t just stop by and watch a match. They all have tight schedules and already have identified those players that interest them. Coaches have their tablets with all the information and schedules f those priority players. Players know coaches will be there because coaching staffs tell those players they will be there. Coaches could care less about the score of the game or the teams record. That’s statistics for parents. The goal is to get your name on that tablet beforehand.
