I agree with you. The club vs club model has been a detriment to youth soccer. Great for the selected clubs though.

Awful development for town clubs as now the competition becomes crap and the exposure even more limited. I guess CSA, PSA etc just got tired of getting beat down by local town clubs Wall, Real, Twin Co, Parsipanny etc. Youth soccer model is getting worse by the day.

Why would any high school aged player stay at real if they want to play in college? How will they get exposure to college coaches???

Serious question do your kids pickup a soccer ball & play on there own?
Do pickup games even exist anymore for kids?
I live in a neighborhood with half a dozen kids who play travel club soccer,
I never see them play soccer outdoors & certainly not against each other.
They all have multiple social media accounts though

Mine plays against her cousins but we don't live near anyone close enough to have pickup games. Used to have scheduled pickup games and everyone would just drive to location but covid killed that.

No but thats because kids are so over scheduled it is crazy. It isnt that they dont want to go play. It definitely isnt how most of us grew up.

I’ll tell you why so they can beat up on GA clubs playing in the “best platform for girls in the USA”. You don’t think college coaches know how weak GA is? Look at the recent GA events, only 20% of coaches attending vs what ECNL had. Even USYS events have more. Real is doing it the right way, get exposure through dominance and in a league that frankly is only second to ECNL and far ahead of GA.

Should have a more diverse field in ECNL in NJ. What club is realistically getting the nod next? FC Copa, Real, TSF ??? They are all very deserving.

USYS is the second best platform to ECNL, followed by ECRL. Get your facts straight. Lots of misinformation on here.

Agree that USYS is better than ECRL, but it’s also better than GA. Very underrated league with tremendous exposure opportunities.
