I’m sorry there are a few but take a look at the below link. Majority of top clubs are ECNL and the trend is only in one direction:

Truth! They would beat the likes of CSA and SJEB with ease.

Which age and teams are you referring to?

SJEB 08 just beat Real 08’s (5-1) and the Real parents were crying,’literally. They were verbally abusive to their kids during and after the game; it was actually sad. Painful to watch and made me glad not to have affiliation with the parents on Real 08 team.

And this is coming from a 09 Real parent. I watched that day because our 09’s had practice at the time of the game. Real didn’t do bad- despite the score- they just weren’t as skilled OR talented - doesn’t say in a few years with more training that they won’t be capable.

People get too caught up on the ABC’s aka the ECNL, GA, NPL and EDP of youth soccer. It’s just sad because the money- not so much of talent - Keeps kids looked at. Money is the way of the world- pay to play

Just let these kids play.

Before you spout lies and false information you may want to realize that those results are still on the internet. Firstly, GA teams were all bracketed in the lower flights. Only GA team at 16s and 17s in the top two brackets (Baltimore Celtic) lost pretty much every game. The simple fact is that ECNL has all the top clubs and players and the GA has quickly become the established secondary or even tertiary level. Facts are facts. There are no GA teams anywhere close to the top 50 in the country at any age group.

The entire system is stupid.
The majority of kids in the US play rec
The rec training is usually not good or completely absent.
The parents who have extra money throw it at slim chances of future scholarships.
They don’t give full rides. The most you can expect is a partial scholarship.
The schools offering are small private schools with over inflated tuitions.
It’s all a scam.

There is a massive group of parents and kids across every sport who want to play at a more competitive level without the expectation that the competitive level will lead to some type of monetary return.

I keep hearing this “monetary argument “ by parents like yourself on every topic especially when it comes to ECNL/PDA. I have never heard, not once parents talking/bragging about athletic scholarships or the amount (if any) they received from a college. Neither my daughter or any of her teammates have talked about the expectation of a monetary return. Your daughter and anyone else who wants to play competitive soccer has the ability at any time to play at that level by going to tryouts at higher competitive teams than the one she is playing on now. Nothing stopping you. If that’s her goal and she is talented plenty of clubs will work with you to make it happen. There are players on my daughter’s team as well at her club that receive financial assistance. This monetary return argument is a tiring argument

My D likes playing at a high level against the likes of upper ECNL teams and likes the players. Her dream school has only taken almost exclusively ECNL with a few international players over the years. That is her goal. Will she be fine with playing for another school, yes but she is aiming high because you can't hit a target if you don't aim for it. In the mean time she is having fun, learning and competing.

Sure ok - give a call when they help out with the plane tickets and hotels and rental cars, etc.

Of course it is not overly focused on financial return because it is a lot of affluent families that take their kids to these very expensive clubs and leagues.

Make sure you sign your name so that pda/match fit can double their fees for you and your rich neighbors.

Never liked the club v club model for obvious reasons. I’m sure the clubs love it though.

So basically the team vs team divisions in EDP will be left with one off town teams? Pretty sad what the system is doing to the little guys like Real, Wall, Howell etc. Those players should look for better opportunities. It’s a joke what EDP is doing here.

What a ****ty way to water down the divisions. If USYS and EDP really wanted a strong product they would nix this and focus on team v team format. Might as well call it GA light.
