Dare I ask how the matches against PAE went this past weekend?

The PA team was filled with ECNL FC Bucks players and the mixed bag of NJ local players, EDP, ECNL, GA won 6-1 and tied 0-0. This was some of the best soccer seen we have seen this year- oh and the fields were heavy grass and they didn’t crumble. To those of you who think ODP is not good enough - too bad for you. Nothing but a great experience.

D plays 08 and played at Milestone, from what I saw some of the PAE players were from PF, Bucks and Delco ECNL teams. Didn't see any GA but the PAE GA teams are the worst in the division at this age. D had a blast and is looking forward to Eastern Regionals next weekend. Her team won 3-1 and 1-0.
If NJ ODP is so bad then what does that make PAE ODP since a majority of the games I know of went in favor of NJ?

I saw a couple of the 08 girls games which were good. The 09 Girls were also playing at Millstone and it looked like they were taking it to PAE pretty good.

ODP brings together the best the local NJ leagues like SJGSL, MOSA, Mid-NJ, GA and EDP have to offer. Kind of like an all star team, especially at the older ages. Very nice experience if you want to put in the work and effort to make it.

It is simply not true that ECNL NJ players do not play ODP! It is just not true. Literally all of the PA team was from the ECNL FC Bucks team and more than half of the girls on all the NJ teams were ECNL players. There were many ECNL players at tryouts that did not make the ODP team because the style of play that ODP looks for just not the same or they were not what they were looking for. Every child at these levels have good and bad qualities and no one is perfect. Because you are on an ECNL team does not mean you are an amazing player.
On my kids team there are players that are strong BUT many many are quite challenged and sat on the bench for years and don't even roster. Some have never played in a league game-- ever. Many are "practice" players that don't play games. Those kids may wear the letters but do they excel and improve - no they do not. Why their parents do it? That I cannot answer - except to fulfill their own personal need or perhaps their child really doesn't want to play soccer.
