This is the NJ soccer forum page. We are talking new jersey soccer. Perhaps it is better nationally but we are only able to play here in NJ. Keep on topic.

Both ECNL and GA are leagues that play outside of NJ. They are both Regional and National leagues. If you are trying to debate which league is best for kids that live in NJ, well then that's an individual choice of which league is best for your kid. So much back and fourth about which league is better it just silly. My kid chose a club that plays in the league with a longer track record of success in kids getting recruited to D1 schools. Thats important to her because she wants to play D1 and feels the league she is playing in gives her the best chance to achieve her goals. It doesn't matter if anyone else agrees with her reasoning. Other kids may find one of the other leagues is just fine for what they are trying to achieve.
Debating that one team of 13 years olds beat another team of 13 year olds and that determines which league is better is just plain ridiculous

The overwhelming majority of parents agree with your logic. Unfortunately, that’s not the narrative the smaller group of anonymous parents want reflected on TS.

Imagine how stupid some of these discussions would sound like in person. 2 grown men debating about the outcome of a 12/13 old girls soccer game. Then pounding one's chest that one league has declared victory and has proven itself as the superior league based on that game outcome.

Somehow people were not thinking of this point for the last one year. On this forum, it has been all about how ECNL players are intrinsically superior to non-ECNL players.

That is correct. The arrogance of that parent talking about their kids goal is just annoying, not helpful to the conversation and self serving. Follow the dialogue—this thread has been trashing STA GA for a year, posting their loses and how PDA and ECNL were superior. So yes when they win of course they will make it clear this is all bull**t.

If PDA White is 'poo poo' then they don't deserve to be in ECNL.

No. In NJ MF, PDA Blue good - NY: SUSA (THE BEST), WCFC also excellent, CT: CFC super sold. PA and MA have great teams as well.

Why is a dad talking logical about what his daughter wants annoying. Didnt say what club she was at, just said she chose a league that had longer history of success recruiting D1. I did not insult the league your kid plays in (whatever league that may be) because to me it really doesn't matter. Where your kid plays doesn't affect my daughter or me for that matter. You should just do what is good for your daughter. Is she at STA? I know STA has been known as a good club for years so you should be fine. Do people on here bash GA? Sure. Does it matter? No. Not one bit

IMO ECNL and GA are basically the same and most games between most combinations of teams are pretty competitive. Occasional outliers but generally the games are good and when there is cross over opportunities, the games are reasonably close especially at the younger ages. FOR NOW, up in the 06, 05, 04 ages there is a gap because so many GDA girls fled but I think 07 and younger there's a lot more parity.
