I'm sorry, but this is the funniest line-[has overseen]...over 10 players that committed to Division one programs since he became the Academy Director in 2019.

        A whopping 10 D1 players in 2 years, lol.

Why are you being sarcastic? Unless your one of those entitled parents who think that if your paying a club then it becomes their responsibility for your daughter to get committed to a D1 soccer program of her choice. Those 10 players have themselves to thank, no one else.

Im not the guy you are responding to but I actually do feel if I am paying 3k a year for a club that they should be helping get her into a top D1 program. For my my I am entitled

Your everything that is wrong with soccer in NJ and youth soccer in general. I hope other people pick up on this topic and respond as well. Part entitlement and being realistic. Who would want a soccer club coach/DOC to be helping a player make the most important decision of their lives up to that point of what college to attend. Also, getting her into a top D1 program. Forget the teachers, guidance counselors, parents or their own efforts. You expect for your $3,000 it’s a soccer clubs responsibility to plan your daughters future. Does anyone else want to say anything about the above statement

Yes and and there are many other parents out there that expect college support for our money.

I’m pretty sure that’s a generic family thing they add to their hiring announcements.

It’s been made very clear that Kelly is staying at STA next season.

If you are not paying $12,000 a year for soccer you are not entitled to anything other than a crappy opinion.

How about save the $3K (which is really more like $7K if you travel) a year and put towards a college fund. Then you will not have to worry about money for college --because even if you get a funding, it will likely only be partial and you will still have to pay a good amount per year.

Thanks for your advice. My daughter is off to play in college and every dollar spent traveling to tournaments and showcases will be a lasting memory. Every hotel, every team dinner, every team adventure will be missed but remembered. To all her friends she made from the team and what they learned in their travels have added to her maturity. Getting to travel around the country and playing against teams from other regions in competitive matches both winning and losing taught her a lot about life. In other words the experience has been priceless. Would do it all over again going through the minefields of club soccer. She loved the experience of playing soccer and as parents we stood back and watched her confidence grow each year. Will miss driving her and her teammates to games.

An approach to life that focuses too much on ROI is sad. Sometimes people just enjoy the sport and the adventure and the togetherness it can bring a family.

Maybe with out high level soccer she won't get into the college she wants and have to make do with community college.

I work as a hiring manager for a large company. It is always clear as daylight which candidates played a team sport at a high level and which ones did not. Needles to say, the ones who know how to work well on a team, can take the highs and lows, and can motivate those around them, go much further in work and in life. You want to talk about ROI? It's been money well spent at every step of the way.
