      Both are doing well.... respectively.

Just wait until the news drops at the end of the season about an MLS league for the girls.

NYCFC girls Academy team will start back up
Red Bulls girls Academy team will start up
      Revolution doing the same
      DC United the same
      Philly Union the same
      Montreal the same.

Mix in the top former clubs of the DA, and you're going to have a real challenge to both the GA and ECNL. That said, the GA (former DA clubs) is already going to headline that environment, playing both the GA and MLS Next Girls ....

ECNL fans love to hate DA/GA.... their right to so do.

But the future is not about the DA, the GA, or MLS, or ECNL. Its about some cool mix of several of them.

Think CHAMPIONS LEAGUE style events for the girls. I think the girls environment will be better than the boys inside of 3 years.
I wish this were true. It sounds awesome

The wishful thinking is strong in this one.

MLS franchises are bleeding money for the past 15 months. Most don't even want to support their boys academies any more and you are positioning that they are starting girls programs? If they ever stat these programs they will just be revenue streams to support the boys academies as expensive pay to play teams. They will not be free to play girls academies because the economics will never work. These MLS franchises are not affiliated with professional women's game in any way, so why would they even consider doing this?

Personally, I wish it were true and that they would align their seasons between GA/MLS/ECNL if this was happening and then create huge events where they all play each other.

Agree with your final line. But the poster never implied they'd be free. Just another expensive pay-to-play team similar to the other 3-letter teams we have for girls now. But with a name and a marketing machine behind it. I'm not necessarily advocating for this, but it's not fetched to think the MLS teams might see it as a revenue opportunity just like our youth soccer academies.

I choose to believe it will be bigger and better than DA. It’s a young league and needs time. Big things are set to happen and it will change the landscape. It’s fine if the ECNL clubs trash GA and people want to leave, but GA is building whether people want to believe it or not. Point to the clubs that have left etc etc I know, but wait and give it time.

US soccer blindsided everyone. Even the club DOCs were in utter and complete shock as uSSDA dropped the bomb. Shame what US soccer did to hard working coaches and DoC’s.

Please don’t ruin a good debate with this rehashed garbage. The next three comments will be: “all the Doc’s knew well before it was announced! “They should be fired for what they did to paying customers” “we were told by a friend that works at the club that they knew well ahead of time. It’s a travesty what’s been done” There. I summed it up for you. Move on.

I think that was a complete act as they knew months in advance. That’s why you cannot trust these clubs. It’s a real shame.

Yep.... I know all about it - in its infancy, but its going to happen next year across the North East.....

1st try out was done.... but it won't get REAL for another year. Inaugural seasons are usually challenging!

That is correct. It will not be a paid program, girls will pay. But they pay now. Its not about the free ride, its about a better playing environment for the girls. MLS franchises can do it.... DA people and ECNL people and GA people all hate each other. They need a moderator to bring it together.

At least now the GA is allowing their girls to play HS, giving up the 10 month program.

How are they getting in but NJ is not an option????
Reading is fundamental. Only reference was to Arlington leaving. NOT FCV. Arlington real nice teams but most are not leading their respective age groups in Mid Atlantic Divisions.

Was this board around when the DA was around and most were probably sweating it? As someone else posted easy on the downfall of GA. It’s only been one full year post pandemic. Lots of great talent playing on GA teams and many of these kids don’t just want to improve by wearing light blue Nike uniforms and sitting on the bench.

Just keep playing and competing and see where the chips fall.
