SST no longer trains at Howell they went in a different direction. Howell charged much lower fees then Wall.

They are using CTR soccer for their trainers now.

Wow that is terrible for SST if other town clubs like Howell are moving away from them.

Year after year Toms River FC puts out great teams that can compete with anyone (ECNL, GA etc.) Great option for a local town club.

Who the heck is CTR and how are they better than SST. Seems like a major unknown. Why not stick with a known entity that produces results and trains great teams.

Obviously Howell did not think SST was doing a good job for the money they were charging.

CTR is easily just as popular in the monmouth area (outside of Wall) as SST. You can’t be serious with the comment? The Marlboro teams have been trained by CTR for many years.

On the boys side for town teams I would say Ocean and Marlboro produce decent teams at every age.

But why are they pitching this as upgrade? Is SST that poor compare to CRT? Seems like knee jerked reaction.

All these clubs suck ass and not one has produced winners. MF Shore is the only club that matters and our 09 team just won the Eclipse Spring Classic in Chicago. This is really the only club anyone should be talking about if your serious about your child's future. If not, stay in your township clubs. You'll get what you deserve. WE ARE THE SHORE, IT'S A SHORE THING!

Too many parents are obsessed with getting their kid playing on an "academy" team. You see this starting as early as U7. Why? If you do some research you will find some of the "town" teams have very competitive teams and offer great training and coaches.

Yup they call it PDA syndrome....find a quality place like Wall, Middletown, Freehold etc and make the most of that all the way to U15-U16. Don’t drink the koolaid.

Most travel clubs will have some really good teams at select age groups. It’s also good to see that some clubs encourage out of town players to join their clubs. Most parents are looking for quality training at an affordable cost. This forum should be a great place for posts like my UX kid is looking for a club in Y area.
