Originally posted by Unregistered View PostOh my god, oh my god, oh my god.... MF Shore is the only way to go! #1 teams in the country, excellent training, professional staff, you can't go wrong. Unless of course you enjoy having to have your 9 year old constantly looking over her shoulder because RT is always adding new players. And don't be offended by drunken parents on the sidelines yelling at their kids all the time during games. Oh yea, be prepared to shell out thousands of dollars for outside training because your 9 year old will be replaced in a heartbeat by a new player.
Pay to play has been around a long time. If you want your kid to play, line the coaches pocket by hiring them for additional personal training which will likely get your kid nowhere if they have marginal talent. Chances are your kid isn't going to play at the collegiate level unless unless they have speed, size, a high soccer acumen and top level talent. Scholarships you say? Maybe if they're really good, they might get a partial but they'd be better off studying hard and getting academic money. Otherwise, they can play D3 soccer and be placed on a roster with 28 kids but hey you get to tell all your friends your kid plays college soccer.

These clubs are all in it to make money so they're always going to add more and more kids despite what they may tell you. Some clubs have B and C teams that are there to support the top teams so they'll gladly take your money.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWe left CSA as well this year. The training was weak and we had to supplement. Financially it makes even more sense to join a good town team that is a quarter of the price and plays in their bracket. CSA definitely has a favorite group that they cater and other talented players have left as well... Unfortunately CSA did not value my kid or their talent so another club scooped her up.
