Maybe US soçcer should go back to funding youth soccer. When the DA folded US soccer stopped spending money on youth outside the NT. The subsidies for girls DA made a huge difference and now that the boys have the MLS youth teams as it should be the girls side doesn't have any outside aid. So on top of their job you want the WNT to do the job of US soccer.

The premier league DOES NOT take a knee during their anthem. They take a knee before the game. That is completely different. If you want to play for the National team then you should stand for the national anthem.
And i must have missed the work that these kneeling athletes do besides kneel. You are not a hero for kneeling you are a hero for acting. Lead by example! Donate your time and money to make a change! Kneeling for the national anthem does not bring about change. It’s embarrassing to our country!

Your last 5 words sum it up. Maybe the problem is we as a country have things that we should be embarrassed about. No country is perfect but bringing certain things to light is what its all about. You do not have to agree but the reality is it can and should be done if the person doing it feels strongly enough about it.

How do you suggest they help? Are they rolling in money like some other athletes? I understand your point but to help you need money. Also of note why should they help people the way YOU want them to? Don't like them, that ok its totally your right. Maybe you should do more, since you are so sure they should be doing more.

The goal is for police to earn the trust of black people and their communities so that they feel like they can rely on the police to protect them. Right now, that trust does not exist. Earning this trust probably can't happen overnight, nor can it happen simply through legislation. Attitudes need to change at many levels, including law enforcement, government, civilian populations, etc. Things like kneeling for the anthem draws attention to the issue in a peaceful manner.

99+% of law enforcement are good people and the media almost never reports positive stories and so the >1% of the "bad outcomes" get blown up which in turn reinforces the mistrust.

I dont think anybody on here is disagreeing with the fact that the issue of racial injustice needs to be addressed. I am white, I am not a minority, BUT I come from an Interracial family. I have seen ignorance first hand, and I have been a victim.

I agree with they why but disagree with the how.

I dont think when you are representing your country you should be kneeling during the anthem. Its a small group of people that treat minorities with such ignorance. Not the entire county.

The National anthem is there to unite us with pride for our country and to think about the possibilities. I believe in our hearts everyone loves our country and what the founding fathers wanted this country to represent. That being said no matter what we say there will be at least 50% of the country you will lose by taking a knee not because they disagree with your protest but rather your disrespecting the flag and what it stands for. I, am in full support of BLM but put into the context of taking a knee during the playing of our national anthem is an affront to the bigger picture of what the symbolism means to brave citizens and military who have died for the meaning of our flag and anthem. There is nothing you could say that will change the minds of the vast majority of American citizens.

It communicates recognition of the problem, which has been ignored in this country for YEARS, decades. Granted when Kaperneck started a few years ago there was less acknowledgement of it than there is now post-George Floyd. It's also not just bad cops but all the racist Karen and Kens out there as well. Kneeling doesn't just acknowledging but it helps keep the issue at the forefront so that changes can be made. Decades of problems won't go away overnight.
