Unfortunately it will have to be these younger age groups that have to be the sacrificial lambs and remain with the club for the next few years to change the overall status of the club and meet the requirements of balanced teams throughout age groups.

All of the current MLSN clubs good or bad have at least paid their dues, one way or another, up and down age groups to be a part of the league. FA has not shown any data to prove why they should be the exception to the rules.

Other teams are brining in 20 players for their U13 teams in addition to and they bring in 5 to shuffle between teams. Each year it will be less and less competitive as players leave 1 by 1.

It’s a vicious circle because getting an upper level league badge would probably bring in dozens of quality players and make them a powerhouse for sure but you need the players to get the badge.

Red Bulls and Philly doesn't care about competition. They want players. Keeping FA out makes it easier to take players since there is no pathway for FA.

True about the vicious circle. That said, there are no discernible "rules" for entry. There is a list of criteria (see below), but a list is not the same as clear requirements. For example: how long a history? How many "elite" players? What is the definition of "elite"? How is the strength of player pool measured? Plus various arbitrary items such as geography, DEI, non-soccer programs, etc. In the end, the Red Bull pick who they want. There should be a transparent promotion/relegation system instead of this mess.

          Exactly.

But explain why? You just say the same thing over and over. Can you not explain?

Who doesn't like medals? Maybe you never won one. But they are nice to get.

Seriously? That makes no sense. Keeping FA out does nothing for them. Red Bull, Philadelphia Union and NYC FC are taking whoever they want from every MLS Next Club as is. They pull from PDA, CSA, TSF, Real, FC Delco and all of the NY clubs as well.

If FA was in MLS Next and the academies wanted players from them, they would take them as well. If FA is not MLS Next, they would take players they want from them as well, as they already have taken their best players in the past.

Just playing devil’s advocate here, but there seems to be a constant message that The RB and/or the entire MLS is somehow sitting around a giant boardroom discussing how they can screw FA. I don’t think they care that much..:it can just be as simple as looking at a map and saying that north NJ is already congested with clubs. The idea of a conspiracy without any real proof I.e an email to the club or reasons given in a decline letter etc. is just overreaching. It come off as a bit arrogant.

Not everyone who has a perfect GPA in the best of schools get into Harvard.

I don’t know if FA has applied to ECNL or USL but it sounds like they didn’t get those acceptances either. Who is blocking them from joining those leagues and proving themselves on upper age groups. That would certainly fill a few of the criteria.

if it’s MLSN only, the idea of relegation etc is just white noise. The league charter is built on private ownership 30 years ago and nobody knows the actual criteria for joining. There are dozens of articles of FIFA pressuring the mls to change but the mls charter is pretty clear on it. The league works from a top down mentality so don’t expect that to change for FA. MLS teams are subsidizing the league as it is already and they don’t want to put another dime into it more than they have to.

so if the RB are really denying FA into MLsN then it’s probably based on their wallet not some sort of personal vendetta.

The RB scouts and academy staff have changed over 2 times since FAs existed. That would mean that 2 full administrations of youth directors would have to have personal issues with FA or that somehow it come from higher up like the RB General Manger.

Even STA who has a better overall resume to join is being kept out of the league and the RB Youth director and the STA Director are admitted close friends.

FA is a mom and pop soccer team. It is that simple, no history or purpose in development besides making money off all the kids so they can pay rent for the bubble.
