The performance of a club is just 1 of the many factors involved in being accepted into the league and staying in the league. The infrastructure is just as, if not more important. Not sure how it is so difficult to understand. The location is 1 thing. The facility and being able to host games and teams across multiple age groups. The recording ability at the venue for MLS next requirements. The lighting of the fields at the facility if needed. Your facility lot being big enough to hold the bussing and parents from multiple age groups that come. Being a great team with no actual facility and limited coaching/staff is not going to get you in. It is not the EDP league with one off teams going from game to game with their one coach. U13, u14, u15, u16, u17 and u19 teams and games all day long. Coaches are there for an entire day. Overlapping field space is required as games and warm-up for next game are simultaneously. How many clubs that want to be involved in MLS Next can fill those needs. Not very many. Ironbound fit that need. They have the Rutgers - Newark facility to use.

I see only 4 other clubs that are good enough but possibly have other issues in NJ:

    North Jersey:
Football Academy doesn't have the required facilities or space. Team is very good, but they don't have more than 1 field anywhere that I am aware of and also their location is down the street from Red Bull. Great younger teams.
Morris Elite seems to have everything they would need. Not sure if they are interested or not with there USL pathway already.
    South Jersey:
SJEB has the facilities and teams but it appears the Sporting AC club that was previously Sporting Delaware got the nod over them. They would have been a good add but the Sporting AC proposal must have looked better.
Futboltech doesn't have the coaching or facilities. Similar to FA great younger teams only, not enough staff or fields. They are a doing a great job training kids up.
Yes, MLS Next founding members do indeed get to vote. Do you work for MLS Next or where do you get your knowledge from?

FA parents got sold MLS Next and obviously they should know by now the coaching staff is full of **** lol they just want the 3k per kid and nothing else.

Honestly you got to put respect on FA Black. Tons of high level academies and town teams either folded or in the process of folding due to the fact they don’t offer MLS Next. FA still attracts top level players and competes with the best, despite losing some of their better players. That tells you they have built a strong foundation. Kudos to them. Not an FA parent.

Also $3500-$3800 is the normal player fee for MLS clubs. Been there and did the switch. Was sold on the training and professional development plans they have for the boys. The more time we spent, the more time we realize it’s a balloon with a hole in it. For existing FA parents or any high level teams with no path to MLS Next. Don’t panic, don’t just switch to follow the trend. If you have real development with your current team (stay put)

Are you speaking of all NJ MLS Next clubs or 1 in particular. . I think I know of one club in particular who is quietly trying to model the MLS Next pro academies. They also have a clear path way to pro and affiliations with several European clubs. They have thus far signed at least one player to a pro contract at 1 of the clubs. I do think clubs are beginning to understand how lucrative it can be if they are able to develop players and move them on to bigger clubs. Time will tell but I believe MLS Next clubs do understand. I know for a fact that kids are already at some MLS Next clubs on full scholarships and I am not speaking of Union, Red Bulls or NYCFC. The top kid aren’t paying tuition and it’s a way for those clubs to hold onto their talent. Changes will happen, but you have to be in it to have the opportunities. Wile I do believe that non mls next academies can develop players, I would rather take the chance at a mls academy if my kid is one of those top players.

Did PDA really beat Union 5-0? I don’t see the score posted on the league site? I know it was cold and raining, did they even play? I’m just wondering if it is real or more people just hating on union.

CSA's tryouts are this week - how many boys 2011 teams will they have next season? I think they have 5 now so I presume 4 but thats just a guess (MLS next, NEAL and 2 lower teams I think).

MLSN, NEAL, E64 and EDP. You don't need to try out either, just sign up for them and they will send you an offer letter. No specific team indicated, just CSA North. All class.
