They played in the same division this last fall and finished in 5th place with a 2W - 5L record. https://system.gotsport.com/org_even...es?team=832665
the top team :
Cedar Stars Academy North Bergen U12 Boys Pre-Academy
They are playing in the North East Academy League Blue. That was a full year long schedule, not a separate fall and spring schedule
https://system.gotsport.com/org_even...es?team=806353
their actual “2nd” team:
Cedar Stars Academy North Bergen U12 Boys Pre-Academy 2
They are playing in the North East Academy League White. Same situation as the first team.
https://system.gotsport.com/org_even...es?team=806358
the 2 North East Academy League teams was a pool of 20+ 1st team players. You could call them 1st and 2nd team.
in the fall the team that played EDP as:
Cedar Stars Academy North Bergen 2011 Boys Pre-Academy 2
that was not the same players that played as the same team name in the North East Academy League White. Completely different roster of kids.
Male U12 - 12B Central Atlantic Premier I
https://system.gotsport.com/org_even...es?team=832661
That could be called the 2nd team or the 3rd team depending on how you look at it. This is the group I think the original poster is referring to as not registered in EDP for the upcoming spring.
in the past the CSA team has played up 9v9 half a year early in the Spring. Maybe they will do the same at 11v11, but they don’t appear to be registered in EDP yet. Not sure where this group of kids is playin in the Spring.

What are your thoughts on the importance of MLS/MLS Next when choosing a club for the fall (U13)?
Say your kid plays on a high level team but in order to play MLS Next, would have to move from a superior Non-MLS team to a lower performing MLS Next team. Would a few MLS league games per season be enough justification for you to make a club switch?

The MLS Next teams will train more than non-mlsn teams and ultimately they will play a higher level of competition weekly, which will include true academies like RB, Philly Union, NYCFC, DC United, etc. MLSN will also provide opportunities for exposure with these same academies for movement. That all said, there doesn’t need to be a rush to move if the coaching and development is strong where you are. MLSN teams have much larger rosters and if you player isn’t going to be a starter immediately, they may struggle for minutes on a team with 20+ kids that can only roster 18 for games. If your child can move to a MLSN team and play a significant role, it probably makes sense, but moving just to move to the badge is not always the right reason.

I was looking at this academy for my son because their facility is just awesome and I saw a few familiar players from other top teams?

CSA Monmouth is fine. Whoever posted that just has a problem with the club. Their 2010 teams is currently the weakest in the MLS Next Division, thats a down year for Monmouth. 13th out of 13 currently. Their 2009 team is 8th of 13 in the division, But TSF, PDA and Real are all below them, so why not bash those clubs. The Monmouth U15 team has only played 1 game and it was a win over Real, bash them. At 2011 CSA Monmouth beat the TSF Pre-MLS team 2 times in the Fall season. Why not say TSF wont rise to the top. Bashing Monmouth is Petty.
