Thought they were referring to FA vs Philly Union. That is correct result vs Union Selecao. 6-1 final with a 1st minute red card for FA and playing down a man for 59 minutes of 60. Different level teams.

If this is true than it’s safe to assume that Bloomfield is folding up is 2011 team? I can imagine that they have enough players to replace them. FA will still be a solid team with the top Bloomfield kids.

At least we all won’t have to suffer listening to those clowns they call coaches anymore.

Now it all makes sense that there is no video posted. Thanks for clarification.

Actually if you compare the photo FA posted when they won the EDP League Cup today and the one from the Delco Cup, you can see that they didn’t use the same team. Union had 1 guest for the Delco Cup, the goalie, who will be on their team next year. This was because throughout the season Union used an extra 2012 goalie as they didn’t roster a 2011 goalie this year. Otherwise, Philly Union’s team was completely consistent throughout the season.

player development goes down the drain :( players dont get invited to the tournaments, valuable oppurtunity to learn...
I can totally understand why clubs do this, but what about parents dont you want to have your kid play in high competitive tournament and give up the spot for a guest player?

Great point. Can’t speak for FA parents if that’s the case but I do agree that having a committed player. coming to every practice, every game, and on the bench as a sub when new players or players that missed practices are playing the whole game and starting is disheartening. For parent and kid. That coach just cares about winning and it’s unfortunate.

As a parent I was in this situation before, roster offered was for A team but my kid ended up playing for other team, unfortunately it was too late for me to pull out from the program for that year.... it is not just FA (although FA is little extreme), it is similar situation across the other bigger clubs..

in my case I will not go back to any of these clubs until my son is 13/14 yrs old...meanwhile I see there are plenty off oppurtunities for my son to develop and continue to use that avenue...

Finally I pity those parents who argue on this board and go to any extent to prove that their club/team is top...get out of that delusion.. look around and you will find talented players everywhere...

Correct, both the FA and Philly Union teams used guest players. The tournament allows 5 guest players per team. FA used 4.. 3 of which are signed for FA for next year. Philly used 1, which is signed
for next year. 2 of the 4 boys that FA used have been playing with the FA team since the late Fall/early winter in tournaments. Both teams followed the rules. No issues. Photos show 9 of 12 kids are the same with 4 guest players at Delco, 4 current FA players at League cup. Don’t see any issues here. Think the FA squad that was at the Delco tournament is the same group playing at the SuperCopa tournament out in Utah.

Which brings us back to the point that FA brought their SuperCopa team, not their EDP team. An all star team of kids from various clubs. Obviously didn’t break any rules but some teams play to win at any cost, even if that means kids that paid the fees, trained with them and worked hard all season don’t get invited. Other teams focus on player development, learning to play the right way, team culture, friendships.

And a red card and playing down in the first minute of the game, that’s not something to be proud of.

I am sure your child's team has kids who progress and kids who don't, same with my kids team. Not sure them taking a higher level team to extra tournaments is that a big of a deal.
Oh and the red card wasn't anything crazy, break away defender fouled the player, last man type of call. Maybe you should question the Union Selecao coaching not being able to adapt

Its a FC Delco tournament, not an EDP league match, what would an EDP league team or SuperCopa tournament team have to do with anything in this situation? That was an extra tournament, not part of their normal schedule. Not sure what point you are making. Every team is an all-star team. Union isn't comprised of 13 kids from Union township, just like FA isnt comprised of 13 kids from Florham Park. Pretty much all clubs have kids from all over on them. Just because you play for a town team doesn't mean they are a town team. The players FA brought are on that team for next year, so if you play them next year are you still going to complain about it? Sour Grapes. Don't think anyone is proud of a red card ever. Union has had their fair share or red cards and coach ejections. I doubt they are proud of those. Score still remains 6-1 in a 8v9 game.

Are we officially done with spring season EDP league? Some of the teams either didn’t play all games or didn’t report the score, can someone list the final standings if they are aware of the scores that were not reported?
