EDP did a good job flighting. They had to put the teams that traveled long distances top flight. You know they were nit coming from MI or MA with 2nd rate teams. FA and CSA as the only NJ teams was the right call. Even Phil.

the gold was the meat of the top NJ teams. It looked pretty evenly matched. Maybe next time Barca would get dropped down and Liverpool moved up. I would beat on Liverpool for this. EDP had to work from the top down.

The Liverpool division at the Tournament was a good match, saying otherwise is just silly. Two teams from top CNJ EDP Conf, they won both games by 1 goal. Seems pretty spot on. Lots of great soccer in the rain on Sunday that is for sure. The finals for the U11 top bracket was insane, rough to lose in a shoot out with a post and a cross bar, but we all know that builds tons of character for these boys!

Liverpool, as with most other teams, was flighted properly. Look at the scores of the games. Also, flighted any higher and theres a good chance they go 1-2, 0-3 in the flight matches, so it seemed to work out well for them.

I agree the flights were competitive.. I believe EDP did a decent job with placing teams in flights. It was fun.

Imagine traveling from Michigan to play a got soccer point high rated team and blowing them out ? EDP did a great job with the top flight selections and the results demonstrate that.

How is the coaches protecting them!!! They play in the Top flight of edp regular season Central Atlantic Premier Blue. They beat two teams this weekend from the other top flight Central Atlantic Premier Red.

Totally agree, all of these idiots think coaches actually have a say.. EDP tries to put together a competitive tournament. Rankings are valued but not the only variable that matters…. previous tournaments, current strength of schedule and results. You may request a higher flight or lower but doesn’t guarantee team will be granted placement.
btw I noticed a few players in the “top flight” had guest players. Does that make sense for mid season tournament? Summer/Winter tournaments is fine. A lot of options for top talent-select teams are formed for Academies level kids who are off and want to play w old teammates or friends. Mid season EDP cup guesting is bogus and provides a false narrative to gain more fake points.

One of the funniest things about this weekend's tournaments is when clubs and parents post that they "won the "X" tournament" and "are champions", but they really won the 3rd, 4th, or 5th flight. lol

Wow…that’s harsh. You’re telling people not to be proud of their kid’s accomplishments? So if your kid wins an award for his class it’s not worth anything because it doesn’t count the entire school?

I was not happy that I had to wait around for a 3rd place metal presentation, my wife would not allow me to just leave. Just give the trophy to the champions and let the rest learn from it. Sorry, I'm allowed to have my opinion just like everyone else.

school analogy is quite a reach and does not equate here - that's like if a student wins the school's science contest and the parent says she won the NJ school science contest. I agree with the poster - pretending to "win a tournament" on social media rings hollow to people that actually are involved in youth sports. If you won the flight celebrate the heck out of winning the flight but to say they won the tournament is strecthing the truth

I don't think they had 3rd place medals... Only 1st and finalists. But I do agree it's either firsf place or none.

Not sure for this age group but they are prob referencing FA 2010 Black had 2 or 3 kids from the u12 academy team. RedBulls Academies we’re off this past weekend. The pre academy were Delco Columbus tournament.
My thought is who cares who plays at tournament maybe they were short on subs. These tournaments are not so serious play.. it’s for fun! maybe these kids want to play for fun with old teammates. Why bother putting out that kids are guesting for teams

I think these tournaments are just the opposite. I think teams come to this particular tournament to win. I don’t think teams would travel from Michigan or Ohio just for fun. Sure maybe in the lower brackets it more fun, they maybe less competitive programs or kids who play other sports etc. but the top brackets are definitely competitive.

i do find it humorous to see people here get bent out of shape because a parent posts that their kid won a tournament in the Titanium bracket. Who cares let them enjoy the moment. I’m sure they are not trying to mis represent anything and the odds are they are not as serious as many of the readers here. I didn’t realize this board controlled the protocol on posting on social media now.
