well, at least you don't disagree that the calls were rather one way. But again, that's the norm for Red Bulls, whether because of the pressing style or ref bias, who knows. Anyway, I don't think I mentioned anywhere that either team outplayed the other, so I'm not sure what your "simply still not good enough" refers to. RBs certainly didn't play up to their potential. FA could've played better too, because it's a waste of the FA players' talent to boot it up from goal so much. It did work once though! Maybe RB will get their long ball defence consistent one of these days.

Also that's very optimistic of you to think that most if not your entire team is good enough to make an actual professional academy. I would say that there doesn't exist a single team in the area with more than 3-4 players that would make the RB Academy and that includes the three preacademy teams and the current Philadelphia Union Junior Academy. Your superstar son is just another player at RBs and would need to prove himself over and over again, at every training and every game. But good luck to you if that's the path you and your son take. It's not the same as travel club soccer.

And with that, hopefully I'm out of the forum for good. Have a great rest of the season all!

I Fully understand that wins and losses don’t matter. I have talked to several people from different teams that have played this Red Bull North squad. They just don’t have “it”. Red Bull NJ North have lost to CSA Bergen 3-0. They have lost to FA Black 3-1. They just edged out Bloomfield 4-3 and they beat STA 4-2. Not very Impressive wins. Let’s be honest. They are, who they are. Remaining games vs Union, PDA, Red Bull NY, AS Junior and Liverpool. I could see them losing at least 3 more of those 5 games. 1 of 2 things happened. Red Bull had so many different kids try out and get offered spots, but so many turned them down (as is the rumor) and they scrambled for players, or they absolutely missed on their evaluation/assessments of what makes a good TEAM. The North Red Bull team is a good group of kids individually. Seriously good and skilled kids, no hate on the kids at all. They can all play. But, overall, as a team, mediocre at best. 6th-8th is approximately where they end up in their flight. What is going on with the development at Red Bulls?

on a separate note…. If Red Bull is married to the high press style…they are in trouble. when they press with 5 -6 players, why wouldn’t teams go over the top of the press and catch them all out of position. Isn’t that what coaching is and Red Bull should adjust to that in game? Hang back and Force a team to build out of the back and beat them? There are many different styles of play and teams should learn how to play more than just 1 way. Just because a team plays over the top vs Red Bull doesn’t mean that is how they always play…. But that is the game plan to win vs Red Bull as shown by their own assessment of games so far.

Thanks for sharing. This game was hell of a lot prettier to watch versus the Liverpool/FA game.

          Union played better!

              Bloomfield - 5
              AS Junior Elite - 0

Should have been a lot worse.

Bloomfield talking a big game. Never a good idea on this board. Especially when you are a paper tiger.

i definitely prefer this camera to the vemeo videos, they are just to far to see without closeups. this was actually a good game. Union held more possession as expected. Liverpool did look dangerous on counters.

Bloomfield looks legit. haven't seen any video on them. what the style here?

Solid team with unlucky loses that could have easily been wins.

Actually not from Bloomfield, but I did go see the game. I heard AS is a super good passing team and wanted to see it for myself. AS can pass very well but most of it was in the back, when they tried to move forward it was usually intercepted. Bloomfield did look pretty good. They passed pretty well and created many chances. That is why it could have been worse. AS only got one decent shot.
