But what I am saying again if there are rules they need to be followed!! You can Google EDP field size and it will give you the min and max size for 7v7 field and that field yesterday did not meant the requirements. You might not agree with that and say the field has been used for year but there are rules for a reason. Was it a good game yes!! ASJE is a very talent team they move the ball very well your goalie made 4 to 6 amazing saves I am not taking anything away from your team or the players. I am just saying the field did not meet requirements and no one can say it does. And all it takes is one kid to get serious hurt on that fence and you might be right it has not happened yet but if it ever does then it will be a different story.

Did you guys play Morris Elite and Red Bulls on that same field this year? If so neither of them had a problem with it?
I cannot answer any of your field requirement/guideline size questions as this is out of my jurisdiction. This is the first I am even hearing about EDP having a minimal or maximal 7v7 size requirement. Again, I am just a parent focusing on and ensuring my child gets top developmental training. But, I am not sure if you have a problem with the small field size or if you have a problem with the fence? Have you ever played at SoFive where kids body check each other into boards? Listen, we don’t wish injury on anyone or child. We are appreciative of the level of competition we played against this season. We welcome any young child, boys birth years 2014 - 2009 that wants to learn how to play the game correctly to come and check out a training session with AS Junior Elite.
Good luck to Liverpool and all the other Top flight teams in the 2011 birth year bracket. Until we meet again ✌️

          Liverpool

Liverpool has a great program. Don’t let those haters and gossipers make you believe something That’s not true.

The discussion is more about the idea of shooting from kickoff rather than Liverpool specifically. Other teams will expect the shot and be prepared accordingly. Only a couple games left of 7v7 anyway. We can move on.

You can only play the field, aim of the game is to score goals so if it’s 20 yards from kick off to goal why not shoot.

Aim of the game is to score goals abs by that you presumably mean win? Perhaps, this is why there is no soccer development in NJ. Winning is all a lot of parents here care about.

I think the idea is that now that things are returning back to normal you are going to see a lot of player changes as compared to last season where most kids stayed on their respective teams. Liverpool, Union, ASJ, are all quality clubs with good players. Unfortunately they are also the type of teams where the bigger clubs will pick off players starting next year as we move to 9v9 etc. It is just all Part of the soccer progression, these programs only compete in EDP and clubs like STA or CSA who play in a League like ECNL can offer a more competitive platform for the better players.

Some programs like FA or may be able to hold onto players longer but eventually some of the parents/players are going to need to move up to a better league. Hopefully they can work out an ECNL bid, but it is highly unlikely that they will get an MLS next badge. So the process continues as Red Bull, PDA TSF etc take the best kids from those teams.

Some parents on this board don’t understand the pyramid yet, and it can be a bitter pill. That’s why soccer has so much competition not only between Luba but parents trying to get their kids to the next level.

Is that a philosophy from Pep’s book? What does a shot from midfield achieve for the other 6 players. Great your kid gets all the attention for scoring 1 out of 50 times from there. Coaches who promote that at U11 should be ashamed and embarrassed. I don’t think coaches with real qualifications have that play in their notebook.

I liked how you put it without having to talk trash about the other teams like some people here. Y’all need to enjoy this talented age group with out having to put your two cents every time someone says something.

Give it two more years max and the big clubs will absorb all the big talent from the little teams. I don't see why a top player should decline to play for the big academies, it's silly for parents to shelter them. The only way the players will get better is by playing against top opponent, playing for their spot and competing against the best teammates they can have. Parents bitch and moan about the Red Bulls but that's how every single youth academy works for every professional team in the world. 12 month contract if the player delivers the player stays if the player doesn't they get released.

                            Liverpool/ASJE

I have been reading alot about Liverpool taking a shot from midfield. I would just like to let everyone know ASJE that greatest passing best footskill team also took a shot from midfield from a kick off but the kid did not score the goalie stop it. So does that make them a bad team or should they look for a new coach?

I have also seen other teams do it. Espanyol does it all the time. Have you never seen Pele or Maradona take a shot from half field right off the kickoff? Any player will tell you, you take the advantage that you have. Part of development of players is that they see these opportunities and take them. I have watched many games in flight 1 and flight 2 and I see players learning to play soccer like robots. (every team does this...goal kick...pass to the defender, defender then pass to the outside mid...outside mid then pass to someone in the middle...) That is the problem. Sure they can pass well, but as soon as they are faced with a one v one opportunity, they cannot handle it. Sure they pass well, but they cannot shoot. Sure they pass well, but they do not see that the keeper is out and should chip him. Passing is very important, very near most important, but the players should have the freedom to do other things too.

The conversation got carried away lol. What you say it’s true but these parents just can’t help it when other teams do something good. Haters always gonna hate.
