That didn't happen. Bergen scrimmaged Staten Island, not Monmouth.

Apologies, you are correct it was CSA SI...although it appears like they will play Monmouth this weekend in a scrimmage.

You factored a loss to Bergen in the ranking for Monmouth. You should update your model and recalibrate - CSA Monmouth is a top 5 team.

I didn't rank teams so that wasn't me, I just made the CSA location mistake. Hopefully I can opine next week specific rankings.

4 players aren't making a difference in a 7v7 at this level. Maybe in lower flights yes vs poor competition. Also if the goalie isn't solid there goes the match.

Nice weekend clashes in NJ Cenral Blue:

CSA Monmouth (9) vs Valencia (8)
Match Fit (10) vs NYRB Grey (6)

              All 2-0 teams sqauring off!!
We will see how this impacts the JFF rankings.

I disagree and think just 2 players can make a huge difference at this level. Just one solid center D can shut down 2/3's of a side, a good winger can isolate and score from anywhere on the small field.

CSA Monmouth (9) beat Valencia (8) 10-4 in Tinton Falls last year in their matchup. This match is home for Valencia. They will be looking to avenge that loss from last year.

Match Fit (10) should'nt be any match for NYRB Grey (6).

                    I agree with this.

With only 6 field players per team and a wider range between the stronger kids and weaker kids, a small # of very good players can definitely make a big difference on a team or in a game.

Really ? How does this solid center back you are describing get the ball to the winger? There's something called a transition There's no way in hell one defender is stopping every attack alone at the elite level. Also, besides stopping the attack the center back needs a solid midfield that can move the ball to the attack. You can have the fastesr winger in the state but if the team doesn't know how to move the ball the winger will be useless. Although I have yet to see a team that actually moves the ball out the back. All they do is blast it and pray that someo e scores.

Ah, what games have you been watching. Tons of U10 teams play from the back succesfully.

                        Here is Union v Ironbound:

From this statement - it appears that the poster hasn't seen a quality youth U9, U10, U11 soccer match in quite some time. Sir, by rule for a number years now, there is a build out line-a keeper MUST play the ball out of the back to a player, which will (usually) trigger a high press from a forward. Playing out of the back is now part of the match rules. The high level teams all play out of the back to different degrees of success - like any pro team. The half back or center backs act as a transitional midfielder - that is the point. I just don't see these top 2011 teams blasting the ball forward, which is a refection of good coaching at the early ages.

Elite teams at this level have progressed to one touch passes and are able to switch fields and not force the ball through when there is no path forward. The majority if not all of the these 2011 ranked teams excell at playing out of the back and ball movement.

This proves the point that 2 players can't make it happen. You need the whole to have great iq, touch and vision at this level.

If this score is true, serious question - why do the CSA people have this team play in the 2011 age group? Wouldn’t they be better off playing in the 2010 B flight? How much better will they get by beating pretty decent teams by 5-10 goals?
